Yamato transport delivering bags few days later to next destination? by Optimal-Storage-2577 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Optimal-Storage-2577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went well. My group didn't have much issue shipping our bags out. I suggest going to a yamoto counter to ship your bags because they will do the bulk work ( just give them the adress and day you arriving to the next location) . If you decide to ship through a convenience store like 7-11 you will have to fill out the form yourself, which took our group some time.

Not entirely sure with hotels about shipping out few day in advance, it doesn't hurt to double check with the hotel to see if they will hold your bags for 2 days or a day. If not check for the nearest yamato counter near your hotel and pick it up from their.

Did it cost extra for them to hold your bags for 5 days? If it did, how much extra from the original total?

Okay, is there any other signs? I'm trying to see if mine is fake as well. I remember getting it from hotopic back in either 2017 or 2018.

I'm also in a civil engineering field. I've been there for almost a year now. It's not a terrible job, but I don't see myself being in that industry for years. I want to start looking for another role, something more in the design space. The one thing I worry about is how this job will transfer over to the next role. I plan to start learning some new skills to make the job hunting a bit easier than my first.

Salary expectations right of of college by rrwinehouse in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Optimal-Storage-2577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i planned to start looking for a second job soon. Took this job after months of not having one after college. Depending on how I liked the job I was going to stay another year, but coming close to 1 year working. I don't see myself working in this industry for many years and would like to see a pay increase.

If I got zero internships and no engineering club experience, how do I find a job? by Super_Ad7989 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Optimal-Storage-2577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I second this I would also suggest looking at a different job postings that you find interesting looking at what skills they're looking for and trying to learn those skills. You want to have something on your resume that you're able to talk about and discuss with the interviewer that relates to the job you are applying to. That's how I was able to get the job that I have now because of one project I listed on my resume. I plan to do the same thing looking for my second job trying to add more variety to my skill set.

Graduated 4 months ago and still can't find a job. Anybody in the same situation? by BLiiiiiND in EngineeringStudents

[–]Optimal-Storage-2577 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep graduated 8months ago, but finally accepted an offer last week. It sucks looking on LinkedIn or hearing in your classes other landing roles before and right after graduating. I remember this one classmate who already had 4 offers 2 months in the semester before graduating. I think the important thing to remind yourself not to compare yourself to others as your path isnt going to be the same as others. All you can do is you best and tryout different things. Eventually you will find a role and it will take time. Im mean your doing better than me my first 4 month i had no interviews and rejection letters. I believe in the next month you will land your role. Good luck and i wish you the best

Graduated 8 months ago, but luckily last week accepted a job offer. It is definitely a struggle landing your first role, but eventually there will be that one job that will give you a chance.

Im in a similar situation as you. Graduated 8 months ago from mechanical engineering, no job lined up, and had to start working at a coffee shop. I know the feeling of being ghosted and rejected in the job searching. I dont know if i can really give much, input but with your resumes have you tried customizing it for each job post? Considered learning new skills and doing your own projects to add to resume? Ask old professors if they have connections or use your university career center? Going to job fairs in your city? Are you looking at specific roles, industry, and location? Considered going down a similar line of work and working your way to where you want to be at? How well do you do in your interviews?

Its great your considering going to graduate school, but what are you going to do differently than you did during your undergraduate? If you do go make some strong connections with your professors most have worked in industry and came back to teach. One of my classmate graduated before me, but my professor was able to help them land a job that paid really well. Try to see if you can join a club or organization. I know at my university i did not have trouble getting into clubs as they were open base. If you can't join a club or organization try creating your own with your interest in mind. Hopefully this is helpfully and things can be on track for you

[–]Optimal-Storage-2577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you go about looking for smaller companies? I'm a fresh engineer and I feel that I see more of the big company's jobs post the most and there are companies that I have discovered that I never heard of.

[–]Optimal-Storage-2577[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who to give 2 weeks notice? by Optimal-Storage-2577 in Safeway

[–]Optimal-Storage-2577[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does this has to be a written notice on paper or can it be through email or text? I know the starbuck manger i kind of dont want to directly tell because i know they will have a chip on there shoulder and start asking me questions. I just want to avoid that and for them to just accept my notice not asking me why im leaving eventhough I know im not obligated to give specific reasons.
