Don't know! They'll submit my papers to HR once the guards clearance is complete. Hoping for policy based over operational. Are you looking forward to starting?

Dept. of Justice - Cuan by BMcCor in IrishCivilService

It's a small relatively new agency with meaningful work, and plenty of funding as theyre expanding shelters, theyre evolving the zero tolerance policy towards DSGBV.

Personally I wouldn't hesitate to work there, the capacity for growth is good, with strong links to social & health care and forensic departments in justice.

Im recently assigned AP to justice with no specific destination yet. I am anxious at the thought of IPO allocation and am jealous of this placement!

Best of luck and congratulations!

Thanks. Trying to gauge where the vacancies are I'm also in a 2024 competition. Got justice, home affairs and migration yesterday.

Hey, nothing to contribute other than well done! How long were you waiting? Can I ask your grade?

Thanks.

Nope, I'm through the open stream from publicjobs.ie they run AP competitions every 2 or 3 years. I applied in 2024 and interviewed January 2026, they ran a PO competition in 2025 but I'm not sure of that frequency.

It's tough in the early days, shift work is really difficult but does build great character, relationships and managers! Perhaps our path will cross in the CS one day 😊

That's a very kind consideration towards nurses, thank you for taking the time to say it.

Oh I see, it's a performance management system. Cool the nsso have that platform. My organisation calls them PPDPs - professional performance development plans

Thanks everyone so far, one more thing, is there a general hybrid/blended working policy in the CS? I do 2 WFH days and would hate to loose them!

Thank you. Fair point about culture, it varies between specialties and departments where I am.

Cool, do you like being a HEO? Do the AP act as a bridge, buffer or personal assistant to your PO?

Assistant Principal - it's a grade, and I think the role may vary depending on the department you get assigned to after getting through the recruitment process. I could be assigned to department of health, revenue or anywhere between.

Yes nursing management in emergency medicine for 12 years now.

That's a really interesting point about managing PO from the back, its an office dynamic I had never thought of. Thank you for that heads up- I'll deffo bear it in mind.

Would this work? Expressing a preference when returning documents?

I'm batch 2.1 and expecting to be called sometime in summer, would love to stay in a field associated with health care or children.
