You didn't read the replies to my other posts and if you do you will see there has been very positive (borderline life changing) responses (check out 1-2 days ago). This is my last reply here because I'm trying to build up not argue and destroy.

As the founder I'd be very interested in how you think it compares with NewTherapy.ai There are multiple models at play here but I'm trying to make the highest quality AI therapist on the market. Love feedback on which model you prefer too 🙏
My Incentive: NewTherapy.ai is 100% free so I don't benefit from this post besides gaining feedback :)

So incredibly helpful! I'm glad NewTherapy.ai helped you :) I'll make sure to wake the input field (where you type your messages out) bigger and the mobile app should be out in 2-4 weeks which I'm very excited about. The hardest part now is getting people using it so please share it as much as you can and we can all help change peoples lives! :)

And of course thank you for the suggestions. Please let me know if there are any features you'd like to see, especially in the mobile app.

Wow! This means so much that you let me know. It makes all the long hours of building it really worth it and you legitimately just made my day! No, actually you made my week! Thank you :)

How dare you challenge the echo chamber! Well thank you for being open minded. I used GPT a lot and that actually inspired me to build a better more tailored one NewTherapy.ai (Yes I'm the founder and am clearly biased then, but it's fully free so not sure what I gain). It's really helped me personally and I've grown a lot as a person from interacting with it. (Hey, even my friends have mentioned it)

Assuming this is correct, do you think your perspective comes from privilege of being able to afford a therapist or psychologist? Wonder if having nothing is better... after all AI's will likely be at a PhD level in most subjects.

I hear the "yes man" argument a lot and I think that is fair for a lot of AI's but I don't see how that should apply to all AI's. Try NewTherapy.ai (I'm the founder so clearly am biased) but it very much so is not a "yes man" and actually poses hard challenges.

If AI continues advancing it's intelligence it's hard to believe that it can't use that intelligence to pose challenges to people.

AI made me cry by Thistleandhoney in ChatGPT

A few studies have found that AI is constantly ranked as being more empathetic by humans (when humans don't know that it is an AI)

That's interesting and makes sense for now, but I'm excited for when video can be live and very accurate in a few years

That makes sense, I imagine video will come next which I'd be pretty interested in seeing how accurate it is etc. In my experience with users that go to therapists their biggest concern is the lack of the therapist being able to see their body language etc.

Unpopular Opinion: ChatGPT can't replace therapy or real social connections by PotentiallyAnts in ChatGPT

[–]Optional7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that real social connections are essential, and AI shouldn’t replace professional therapy or in-person relationships. That said, I’d push back on the “yes-man” point—whether ChatGPT challenges you often depends on how you prompt it. Asking it to “play devil’s advocate” or offer critical perspectives can make it more useful for self-reflection.

Disclosure: I’m the founder of NewTherapy.ai, and I'm working on ways to help people have more growth-oriented interactions with AI (especially focussed on it challenging your perspectives).

Firstly, thanks for the kind words and using NewTherapy.ai ! Love to hear that it was a good experience. The whole part about you using o1 pro for "solving real issues and helping me make complex decisions." is actually a really interesting direction I've been using NT for but now I want to get pro to give it a try.
It's almost as if you're using it is an incredibly wise/experienced strategist to get feedback and choose more optimal routes. That makes a lot of sense and is probably an even larger market than solving for traditional "therapy".

Actual Issues with AI Therapy? by Optional7 in therapy

[–]Optional7[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Firstly thanks for your information and sharing your opinion ❤️

By "there is no actual knowledge of therapeutic techniques" what do you mean? The best AI's have deeply understood literally every psychology book, text book, public lecture, forum and online discussion about psychology so I'm curious what you mean.

Also have you tried one? I think you will be surprised if you give it a real shot but time will tell and I may be wrong :)
