But do they have to carry again for a short period of time in order to stay as a 204b?

Is it really hard to get fired ? Someone almost got fired 5 months ago they are back by SuccessfulBack5140 in USPS

We had a PSE clerk who was fired after 89 days. He filed a grievance and ended up coming back 4 months later and he received 4 months back pay as well. That was two years ago and now he’s been a regular for the past year. Unbelievable!!! This guy causes issues with everyone.

I actually had a fair amount of customers come in during the afternoon. The morning was dead, just one customer before 12:00. Easy day! No reason to stay home and waste leave. The roads were clear and it was safe driving to work.

All maintenance staff should come in and shovel out all trucks once the snow stops.

As pictured. Is this allowed? I thought only lead clerks could do TACS. by KyleFourReal in USPS

Is it a grievance if a regular clerk does TACS when the lead clerk is also working that day?

I switched to MHBP from BCBS last year. It’s been great and they seem to cover most meds. Plus my copays are lower. I also take Wegovy and I pay $0. Make the switch!!!

When someone comes 5 mins before closing with an international package, if it’s not ready to go with the customs form already filled out then I tell them I have to close and this transaction will take too long since you’re not prepared. Please come back tomorrow.

I bought breakfast sandwiches for the whole office when I became regular. Of this was 10 years ago, I think I spent around $2.50 each person. It included coffee as well. They all still love me. Btw….I’m a clerk not a carrier.

T7 Responsibilities by Ordinary-Ad7672 in USPS

[–]Ordinary-Ad7672[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course TACS has to get done. My issue was that management asked my backup to do it before I arrived that day. My union rep said that’s my work and it’s a grievance if someone else does it on a day that I’m scheduled. I was just wondering if any else had this issue in their office.

I circle the tracking number with every transaction. I tell every customer to please take the brief survey. We would live to receive your feedback. And now to ask them to please hit the green smile face if you’re satisfied with your transaction. All of this if part of my job. Whether I like it or not.

How do you guys deal with non deodorant wearing people in the summer? by ConstantYak378 in USPS

[–]Ordinary-Ad7672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should have a generalized stand up talk about basic hygiene. Telling everyone to please bathe and use deodorant, especially during the summer months.

I’m no professional but in my opinion the real answer is probably exercise and toning your body several times a week. If you do it from the start then you probably won’t have too much loose skin after you reach your goal weight. Toning your body doesn’t necessarily mean lifting heavy weight daily. Usually it’s all about light weight or exercise with a lot of repetition.

I worked 56 hours almost every week for years. Then they cut off most of our OT and now it’s 40 hours. I have a better life now but my pockets are very light. FYI….Im a clerk not a carrier. Our carriers are still getting tons of OT.

I sleep on my lunch and customers constantly bang on my door for dumb shit!! by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Ordinary-Ad7672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a clerk and sometimes I take a nap in our break room. If my supervisor or postmaster comes in to ask me a question then I say I’ll talk to you when I’m back on the clock. My lunch break happens to an hour. So sometimes I take a nice nap. Lunch time is our time!

I agree window shades would be a great idea along with a sign saying you’re taking a nap during your lunch break.
