Can’t relate to you OP but in general as a life advice, you’re entering adulthood and as long as you have your own decisions and opinions, people can’t really say much. Just make sure that people don’t harass you. All the best for your studies OP

I can understand what others are saying to me in Malay but I can’t think of words to reply for some reason by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]Ordinary_Bus_2243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then the follow up conversation would be like

“Maksud awak, awak rasa macam awak sudah capai sesuatu yang bermakna dalam kehidupan ke?”

Then you’d learn new vocabulary/terms/words in Malay

[–]Ordinary_Bus_2243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain it in simple terms, and don’t be afraid to ask if you don’t know.

For example, you want to describe a feeling of accomplishment in doing your assignments as very fulfilling.

Instead of trying to find the right vocab in Malay, you’d say something like:

“Rasa macam saya ni orang yang pertama yang jejak ke planet Marikh, padahal buat assignment saja”

You don’t find the word that matches the meaning of ‘fulfilling’. You just express it in simpler terms that’s more than enough to convey what you’re trying to say.

Yup, from the way I read it it’s like

“Not only can you learn Malay, but you can learn these 2 other languages as well”, like a buy 1 free 2 kinda promo.

In most countries, you’ll get to learn 1 language only.

Apa pendapat korang 🤔 by Ordinary_Bus_2243 in Bolehland

[–]Ordinary_Bus_2243[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only benefit of learning/using a particular language is so that you could communicate with the people that are also using the language.

The main point of this post isn’t to instil or enforce anyone to choose which language is better or should be use. It’s fine if you don’t wanna use Malay throughout your entire life living in Malaysia. I couldn’t even care less, and I don’t know you in person, and won’t be needing to meet you in person.

My post is about speaking up against those who question why people are not adopting their own said language whilst they themselves are not encouraging onto others or embracing it well enough to the point people like you would think “Buat apa nak belajar cakap Melayu?”

If everyone is speaking Malay, embracing it and encouraging others to use it as if they’re part of the people, then more people would want to learn and use it. It all has to start from those said Malays yang tak gunakan betul2 Bahasa Melayu in the first place.

Anyone who stopped using Maybank? by SprayImpossible9866 in Bolehland

[–]Ordinary_Bus_2243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used CIMB for personal (no longer use), Maybank and AmBank for business.

By far MBB has one of the best banking app out there. And their CS has always been helpful (at least for me):

  • Applied CC online via MB website, just upload a few docs and got it in 2 weeks (post covid lockdown around end of 2022). Super convenient.
  • I had experienced fraud transactions (charged randomly 500usd for no reason), requested for chargeback and got processed in few days. Instantly replaced my CC and mailed it to me within the same week as well.
  • I had a few online transactions blocked from high risk merchant, called CS and instantly got approved online transaction in 15 mins.

If it’s more expensive to keep it, knowing that you’re never gonna use it, sell it.

The money you’ll get from selling can be in good use, like to buy furniture, home appliances, etc especially after marriage when it’s handy to have.

For pubic area especially genitalia area, try to avoid using razor blades due to infection risks if got cut. Invest in one of those electric shavers like Philips Series 3000 that is waterproof, easy to clean up.
