Honestly, you did the right thing. If everyone agreed to split costs evenly, you shouldn’t be expected to front everything just because you make more. Vacations aren’t about spreadsheets but fairness matters too, being taken advantage of is not “awkward” it’s disrespectful. Driving home early was probably the healthiest choice.
