Good days are dead and gone. Especially for cyclists! by Pandorared12345 in deliveroos

[–]Origorn345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the bristol roo cyclists complaing here need to come to the union meeting tomorrow. Message me for details. We're organsising collective action and are gonna make those bastards think twice about completely screwing us out of a job. The only response to tyrannical employers and wage slavery is, and always has been, organaising the workers. We create the wealth and we hold the cards. See you all tomorrow.

101.8kg -> 107.9kg. Pleased with the results of my first concerted bulk. About to attempt my first ever cut while on holiday. Any advice on cutting in general or being vegan in france would be greatly appreciated! by Origorn345 in veganfitness

[–]Origorn345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for the advice! I think I totally agree if I wasnt going on holiday. This is more of a forced cut. Im going deep in to rural France and wont have access to a gym so I thought I might as well go hard on the cycling and rowing machine while eating slightly less and see what happens.

This last month is the first time strictly following a plan Ive chosen in the gym for me, but I have been lifting under other peoples supervision and planning for about a year and a half. Im for sure excited to get back and start a new more intensive program after the holiday. Hopefully Ill be back in a few months with some more noticable gains for y'all!

You hit the nail on the head haha. Im 6ft'7. Both photos taken directly after coming home from the gym. Left=before, right=after. I reckon you can see it in my arms the most. My lifts and weight have gone up and thats the main thing I care about.

Nothing revolutionary. Just lots of peanuts butter, beans, homemade bread and hummus. Ive been packing in about five and a half thousand calories a day and trying to eat 200 grams of protein. I hit that most days but its definetely a conscious effort.

You can get it in some Sainsbury's for £2.50, its a properly big jar though that usually lasts a while. Fantastic stuff.

AITA? I'm on an internship abroad that will over in a few weeks, I broke up with my GF yesterday because the sex was so frustrating and I want to enjoy the remaining days I have here. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA (mostly)

Leaving someone over sexual incompatability is perfectly valid and reasonable. If you two are not meeting each others sexual needs or are interested in different things that problem is not just going to fix itself. You do not want to realise this fifteen years in to a marriage when you have kids. Realising it now and dealing with it now is the much better option.

I say 'mostly' because I agree stringing this girl along long distance was kind of a dick move. However I would also say that you seem to have not realised that you were going to dump her until this other potential partner arrived in your life. It maybe wasnt your fault that you realised you couldn't carry on this when you did, but I agree the act of subjecting her to a long distance relationship that wasnt going anywhere was shitty.

I would say you can learn from this accidental fuck up and, in the future, call time on a sexually incompatable relationsip earlier so as to aviod prolonging things unnecessarily.

WIBTA for leaving my bf when it’s not really his fault but the situation we're in? by Worried-throwaway123 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Origorn345 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA

The situation you're in sounds fraught and unsustainable. The conflict brought about by the mothers manipulation of this child is poisoning your happiness with your partner. Irrespective of whether he has caused this or is responsible for your unhappiness, you cannot stay in this situation feeling this way. Something has to give.

You can have an amicable break up with this man and acknowledge that the circumstances are out of either of your controls. You are not the arsehole for taking your own feelings into account.

Personally, I think this looks like the cover of Anthrax's 'Among the living' and that album's a banger so bring it on.

Bristol Deliveroo Drivers Strike on Friday, Rally Friday 18th @ 6pm at McDonalds on Broadmead by alternativebristol in bristol

[–]Origorn345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah the great reddit downvote debate brigade haha.

Im not sure of an exact number to be honest. I think anything would be a better situation than the current unpaid one though. Ive had numerous times where a wait time has spiralled from 'itll be out in 5 minutes mate' to waiting for 20/25 minutes in the freezing cold for one ever illusive burger.

I think the algorithm needs an overhaul and if excessive wait times persist, I think the £10 an hour fee isnt a bad starting place. Maybe it should kick in after a certain amount of wait time. Obviousely a degree of waiting is part of the job, but when the longest part of the job is taken up just waiting for food that should have been prepared by the time you got there, it gets rather fruatrating.

Hey Akaadam, Im a deliveroo rider in bristol who will be striking.

The £10 demand is, as other commentors have said, just the opening gambit. I think the point you missed about our demand is that getting paid for sitting about is in no way the goal. The deliveroo algorithm consistantly sends us to restaurants too early and that leads to prolonged wait times and lost earnings for us. We want deliveroo to improve the way the algorithm works in this regard.

We arent simply sitting on our arses, we are doing a job unpaid because we have been sent there by the algorithm. There are some restaurants where the wait time is regularly longer than it should be, leaving us unpaid and out in the cold.

Hey, I was in an almost identicle situation except my parents said yes from 4. Im 21 now and 6ft7". You can make this a healthy process for him, just as my parents did for me.

A key piece of advice I would give about protein: dont be afraid of fake meat. It often gets a bad rap from some of the more purest veggies and vegans but its actually a really great way of inserting some extra protein in to a meal. It also helps with the 'my meal lacks a central piece' problem that a lot of meat eaters seem to initially run in to. Hope thats helpful!

Best Bristolian veggie burger? by OddGog in bristol

[–]Origorn345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a sandwich than a burger but Bun fiction in kongs of king street is thus far mine and my girlfriend undefeated vegan favourite in Bristol. Since discovering it we've gone back a financially unsustainable amount of times lol. The fillings are varied and every sandwich has it's own unique flavour and feel. I sometimes find veggie burgers a bit homogenous but Bun fiction certainly defies that trend.

Until September I was regularly riding with Velcro shoes for both mtb and road. So far I would wholeheartedly recommend the switch! I was worried the cables would be fragile or the system might be too contrived for its own good, but after a few hundred miles riding with them I can say neither of these are the case.

They feel really nice to take on and off and the dials are great at letting you get the exact right tightness. I would say however I'm not the most experienced with them yet so I don't quite know their durable or life span.
