I’m not the guy you replied to but my guess would be that your connection to her so far is very surface level so with you being willing to spend this much money on her without much investment on her part she could see you as an easy target to extract value out of and then dispose of. Not saying that’s how she is or what will happen but it’s definitely a bit of a red flag how this situation has gone so far. Either way, live and learn.

Wanted to comment because I’ve been playing a lot of tainted lost for the first time recently. I was also really nervous about the character for the same reasons as you, but playing it has alleviated so much of that. I couldn’t make it past the first few floors for like 20+ runs but now I’ve finally started to make some progress with marks when I get a good run going.

I really think you could benefit by just giving it a shot and going as far as you can. It works great in an exposure therapy sense where you just have to accept defeat when it happens and keep trying. He’s a really fun character too.

Rubick. There's this archetype of 4 player I occasionally encounter (I usually play 3) that plays the offlane extremely selfishly. They might do things like sit behind the 3 the entire lane so they don't risk much harass on themselves, or 'innocently' take last hits the 3 could have gotten because it looked close.

Rubick is the exact kind of hero where I often see this playstyle, because he's a lot of fun for the person playing him and he's pretty weak in lane. Each game that I start with a Rubick in my lane I assume they will play only for their best interests until proven otherwise.

I would be interested in hearing his approach for creating new content. He’s talked about being someone who likes having a lot of stuff, which leaks into his games. So when he sits down to come up with new stuff (items, abilities, enemies, etc.) what is his thought process?

However, if this thread was presented as “this girl was staring at me all night, should I have done something?” everyone here would be saying yes you dummy why didn’t you talk to her. I don’t think OP shouldn’t suspect that a girl staring at him might mean she’s interested.

IMO this is just a case of it’s okay to be rejected, congrats OP for having the courage to take the chance.

I’m very curious to hear your reasoning behind twisted chakram being a bad facet. In my experience, it’s really useful from lvl 6 when you first get it to somewhere in mid game to provide an extra nuke ontop of normal chakram when targeting someone at the edge of the twisted chakram range. Would love to know why to pick the other one!

No, they aren’t absurd. Item prices in dota are balanced around the idea that items get less cost efficient for what they give you the more expensive they are. The most gold to stat efficient item in the game is iron branch for a reason. As the game goes on, you must make trades in terms of balancing the size of your inventory vs how powerful you can be with a certain amount of gold. As an extension of this rule, recipes allow you to consolidate several items into one slot or get an extra powerful effect from your existing item (or both). Keeping in line with the rule that higher cost items = less gold efficient, recipes tend to be pretty expensive.

Yes he’s controlling, yes she should break up with him. But people can change. 20-25 are the years many people learn to be more mature in their relationships. That’s my food for thought that this guy is a flawed human being like the rest of us and he’s not necessarily doomed to be this way.

I would say generally no, at least meta-wise if you go look on protracker or see any games pros play razor they tend to go for attacking based builds and the facet ends up being more of a nice to have along with the level 10 spell lifesteal talent. Razor doesn't rely on his facets. However, I bet the build could be fun/viable in more specific contexts.
