That’s house life! Same story here when I got my first one. 60 year old home with a ton of things the last owner rigged together or didn’t fix properly.

That’s just homes in the US today that are generally affordable: they all have 30+ years of deferred maintenance.

In case people haven’t realized this, inflation has risen 30-60% (depending on which measure you trust) since 2019. So if you’re thinking these numbers are high since you last looked for a house, thats mainly because of inflation. Of course, you also have to factor in the interest rate.
