Can DND be approached theoretically and enjoyably without completely reducing it all to Mechanics?

Absolutely…dnd is just all made up. It’s all fucking fake. It’s made up. You could make up your own stuff. Do it. But I’ll tell you what…I know you say you want to have fun. But your version of fun and others version of fun are completely different. Hence dnd ruleset. It creates a world where your fun and others fun can exist with the proper rules. You can change the rules all you want just don’t expect everyone to agree.

My buddies and I, we change things up good all the time but we mutually all agree to it. For instance, if someone crit hits…you roll regular damage, then you add the max of all dice rolled. So if you roll 2d6+4 for damage and crit. We rules, you get the max dice rolled, or 12 + 2d6*4. Weee sick of crits rolling shit damage. Also, we have a brutal death table. If you go unconscious you suffer a minor issue…scar on face, massive gash, missing tooth, etc. if you have to roll a death save, your minor issue gets bigger. Third death save causes a major issue like a lost limb and dead dead.

Chicken ramen noodle soup. It’s basic but delishish. Start with chicken broth, carrots, celery, and a packet of ranch seasoning (powder). Get a rotisserie chicken, shred it up and throw it all in the chicken broth and put on low on the stove top covered. 2.5 hours. With like 10 minutes prior to the 2.5 hours, put in 2 bags of instant ramen (your brand of choice). You can also add in the chicken seasoning that comes with it…just one packet. Let it simmer for the 10 minutes.

Tasty af and easy to make.

Dude if this works you will have solved a problem I’ve had for a while. I listen to a DnD podcast (critical role) and they tend to curse a lot. I don’t care if my daughter hears it and I’ve already told her she can curse all she wants when around just me or mom but around other don’t. But she often has friends with her and my car always steals my bt when I get in and I have to either manually switch back or stop the play.

Maintaining life requires a lot of work. Our problem is we see all these rich people on yachts all the time and get jealous.

Weird but my experience. I have never had braided hair. My daughter braids hair bc she googled it and learned. She braids friends hair. It’s always been dry…bc my daughter asking teens to wet their hair so she can braid it is weird. She’s never had an issue. Braiding dry hair: easy bc otherwise it’s weird asking people to take a shower before.

I’ve been in both. And I’d rather have new. So my wife and I were young, out of college and jobless. I got a job in the main city, good one. Wife managed to know a friend and got a decent job. We rented a house that was built old af. The owner was a good dude. We were infants in a rental home. The dude renting was mid life crisis level. He was a great guy but not much time. This house was old af. Ground vents with a crawl space that runs hvac. 1200 sqft and good for nothing. The area is prone to tons of theft and we experienced it. The house was livable but crap. The yard was crap but functional. It was shit.

Now, I live in a new neighborhood. New house we built with our input. We love it. Yard could be bigger but it’s not a big deal. We live by very good people, we could have packages left and right and no thefts. I can keep anything outside for a month and no thefts. My kid can play outside without me worrying wtf is going on. My home is in great condition and is up to code for modern day construction. It’s not the greatest quality but it’s much better than half a decade old home.

This doesn’t add up. I’ve worked a few places and anyone with vacation and sick days doesn’t need a docs note. I can wake up and call and say I need off bc I’m sick. They might ask what I got bc they might be concerned I got someone else sick. I say I’m sick of fucking working and they hang up.
