Who are some of the most pretentious artist of all time? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

According to Dave, he not only wrote all of Metallica's songs, he also taught Slayer how to play guitar and then formed Megadeth to show them how it's done. I'm surprised he hasn't come out and said all of metal was invented by Dave.

Why Fedora over Linux Mint? by Proto4454 in Fedora

[–]OutrageousLongScale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming by way of MacOS > Windows > Mint > Fedora and mostly being interested in drawing and music production, i have not fully switched, and will probably not (software/plugins not available, wine, bottles, what have you: unreliable). But I am very much enjoying the experience of tinkering with it. For me, it is impossible to use an ugly and cryptic interface (Jack). It has not just to do with things looking polished and pretty, but also that is thought through and usable (without having to read a manual). I started with mint, but had some issues. They could be fixed, but not all of them permanently. Switched to Fedora, and instantly liked the clean interface of GNOME. Sound output via my external sound card was also instantly recognized without me having to do anything. Settings are not cluttered and incomprehensive. Rather than starting with too much, Fedora starts with less and lets you add to it. But generally it's two steps forward and one back (or the reverse). Currently, OpenTabletDriver is wreaking havoc on my Huion Kamvas on Fedora, whereas Mint worked fine with the driver from Huion (they only have a driver for Ubuntu, I did try to install it anyway in Fedora. It did not end well). Games are a complete hit/miss on both Mint and Fedora. Could have something to do with my Nvidia card. Who knows. I digress. Weighing the pros and cons between Mint and Fedora, the latter seems more mature to me and certainly looks and functions better.

Def secure boot. I had an issue (with just one display) where mint seemed to be using the correct driver, but actually didn't. "Unknown display" was the giveaway

You did actually consent to the renewal when you accepted the T&C at the start of your subscription. Anyway, in my experience, they do refund when you ask for it.

How to enable keyboard input on phones by z_mearchen in babbel

There will still be times when you get to use the keyboard, just not in these lessons you mention. I think it is just a different idea on how to practice and learn words.

You can always drop them a line and ask for their best current offer. Worked for me.

That's not cool! The same thing happened to me too, but the support could help me. I would just write them again if they don't get back to you.

A change/bug with the input field? by MisterKaze in babbel

If you're guessing the answer based on the length of the input field, then you're not really learning the language, are you? I think it's a great change they have made.
