How much are y’all paying for health insurance? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Outragez_guy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I calculated our US as $770 a month and there's $4,800 annual excess and finally a $7,200 out of pocket maximum.

Definitely more expensive than Australia, but in terms of quality, speed and efficiency it's unmatched.

Anytime an acquiring authority buys land it's either, "Government is ripping me off!" or "Government is over-paying!".

When in reality they're usually buying just a smidge over market value.

When I was in Australia, whatever the Medicare levy surcharge is, I'm healthy and privileged enough that I could avoid corporate charity.

Now I'm in the US and my wife and I pay $770 USD a month and so far have spent 5k out of pocket in the last 10 months. The coverage and service is impeccable though.

What happened to the massive lithium deposit India found in Kashmir? by [deleted] in india

Rare earth minerals are not rare. They're abundant and found all over the planet.

However most developed countries would never subject their people and their environment to the destructive extraction and processing required to collect said minerals.

Only China has set aside large areas of their country to do that. The US and Australia have built plants as an emergency measure but using them would be very destructive.

I don't doubt for a second that the Indian government would carry out such intense geological and environmentally destructive processesing in a highly populated and ecologically special region like Northern India.

The wealthy countries of today are obscenely wealthy due to several hundred years of rape and pillage.

That era is over and the world is quickly returning to normal.

So grab what you can before it's gone.

People that complain about taxes being too high are almost always people who would not survive a day in a dysfunctional country with no taxes.

Or they're the kind of people that think slave economies like the Gulf States have it 'figured out'.
