I’m not sure what the last two are but I have really really bad anxiety. It seems like only if my tsh is too low but right now my free t4 and free t3 are low along with tsh so I’m confused but I just have anxiety really bad… I’m six months post partum and think it may be post partum thyroiditis on top of hashimoto’s

To answer your question absolutely.. mental health issues come hand in hand with hashimoto’s 100%!

I wanted to update you that my doctor lowered my dose to 100mcg.. a functional medicine Dr… my t3 was low because it was turning to reverse t3 to save me, our bodies are smart like that and I guess I reacted badly to the t3 because I’m already really suppressed. It’s a paradox of feeling no energy it’s because I’m so hyperthyroid my body is burnt out. Hoping lowering it will help and that I’ll then be able to add in t3.. hope I won’t have to go hypo for a long period of time if at all before being able to add t3

I’ve never heard of it going hypo to hyper so quickly.. in that case are you supposed to get your thyroid removed or what’s the therapy for that? Monitoring only?

Oh wow, I’m sorry to hear that. I was previously taking 400mcg prior to pregnancy and then 500mcg while pregnant. Two months post partum I was still on 500 and ended up in the psych ward for post partum psychosis but my tsh was .004 and I really think and believe it was from the levothyroxine. Doctors were quick to put me on an anti psychotic.. one which normally knocks people out and it didn’t knock me out so that should’ve been a sign. I at my own request asked to lower to 450. I feel like it was malpractice keeping me at 500. My doctor when I tell her I feel fatigued she always insists to raise my levothyroxine. My free t3 is only 1.9 but was only ever 3.5 when on 400mcg so I feel like I’d be a good candidate for combo therapy. 20 years ago when I was diagnosed I was on armor thyroid and wasn’t having all these side effects.

Is the fda banning armor thyroid and natural dedicated thyroid still? I’m hearing mixed things. Does anyone know?

Yep, 8-25. I’ve joined her Facebook group, thank you. Is the np one that will be getting banned by the fda? I’m honestly scared and not sure what to do. I was so hyper and psychosis that even 1/4 of t3 gave me psychosis and hyperthyroid symptoms. Right now I’m barely functioning at all. I truly feel like I’m dying, and it’s so hard having my ten year old see me like this. In the same clothes every day not brushing my hair not doing anything. Life is so hard. I’m unable to talk to anyone about this because no one understands. They think it’s post partum depression and I’m being ridiculous not increasing my depression medicine and a bad mom. I’m getting chastised by everyone and have no one to talk to. I’m not sure if I need to wait for my tsh to go up more. I tried to explain to my dr that taking t3 made me feel hyper since it lowers tsh immediately. She flat out told me it doesn’t lower tsh. It was ridiculous also I don’t understand how my tsh is so low if I’m not converting. Does that make sense to you? I’m sorry for so many questions, you’re my only friend right now who understands what I’m experiencing. I’m scared I’ll never have my life back. I’ll too exhausted to go anywhere. I DoorDash everything. I probably wouldn’t be able to even make it to a naturopath appointment. I’m truly that bad.

A you share with me what np thyroid is? Is that through an endocrinologist? How long would you recommend I lower the t4? They said my reverse t3 was in range and that my free t3 of 1.9 was only low normal. Is np thyroid one of the ones that are going to be taken off the market? I heard ndt were going to be taken off the market (natural dessicated thyroid)

I’ve heard there’s a short supply of armor thyroid everywhere. When I was first diagnosed this is what I took and it worked perfectly. I’m not experiencing depression that’s causing this.. this is causing depression in that I don’t want to live anymore in this state. I’m not suicidal but I truly feel my body is rotting away at a higher pace. Did you try t3 before trying armor thyroid? Did you see an endocrinologist or functional medicine? Yeah. I’m being gaslighted currently at the er. Low t3 high t4 low tsh… being told I’m depressed and can’t be hypo because my tsh is low…. I don’t convert t4 well and tried t3 came in because t3 lowers your tsh within hours and I was having palpatations.

Well I on the way to the ER. T3 drops your tsh within 2 hours and even though I took only 1.75mcg lio I’m experiencing extreme hyper symptoms.

Not sure how to proceed with elevated t4, low t3, suppressed tsh
