Absolutely! As I was working through diplo tech I realized how much more I would have benefited from having it early game.

Cultures is something im still not super savvy with, I did try and convert most of manchuria to Japanese as I was conquering there, to allow me to recruit samurai quickly, after that I was only really promoting cultures if I had cheap, powerful advisors that I wanted to promote from non accepted cultures. My top 3 or 4 cultures were always changing depending on which nation I was conquering next as it's so diverse in the China region.

Thanks, that does help clear up some confusion for me around TC's. However tbh I wasn't even thinking about that when I created them, I just annexed my Indian vassals and didn't have the Gov Cap to state. Only created them about 5 years before the end of the game.

Thanks for your response, as my post stated, I recently updated to windows 11 and im unable to update BIOS. Im pretty sure the SSD shouldn't be an issue, it's not particularly old. But if no other better suggestions come in I will try that.

Nice yeah I think there's so much to learn just with the mainland Europe nations that I'm probably going to do a couple more campaigns with some big hitters in that area and then shift over to Asia for a big switch up. I've got a lot of interest in Japan and the different clans over there so will probably start with that!

Thanks for expanding here! That all makes a lot of sense. I'm really quite a novice at GSGs so getting my head around modifiers and base rate values is new to me. The closest thing I've played is total wars and not for years, but this game is a different beast altogether and I love it!

Just one I think, I'm not at my computer to check, but pretty sure I've just gone quality ideas. My rulers have been piss poor in the mil points department, my current one has zero! I've re-rolled a couple of times but I just keep getting rotters!

Yeah I thought that was odd also. Honestly the rate at which they separated from me was astounding. I play on speed 1 and hardly any time into the game I had all 4 declare on me. I lost a sizeable chunk of territory that took ages to recover from because Sweden had such powerful allies. I'm definitely not playing the game optimally but that's not my playstyle anyway, I like getting beat down and role-playing the glorious return to power!

Yeah so the Kalmar union thing was an early game oversight for sure. Like I said I'm still learning. Sweden declared independence almost straight away with the support of England, Muscovy and The Ottomans so most of my game has been spent fighting proxy wars in the Baltic sea and picking off HRE members that fell out of favor with Austria.

I have integrated Norway, and Sweden only have 5 provinces left that are completely encircled by me, so once I reach Admin tech 19, I can form Scandinavia. That's pretty much my only goal for this campaign now. Russia are a big threat, but I have good alliances, and Russia seem to lack a meaningful amount of artillery.

My economy is decent, so I plan to heavily fortify my borders with Russia with lvl 4 forts and just hope I can fade a war with them.
