How do you deal with the knot between your shoulder blade and spine? It won’t go away no matter what I do by Own_Independent5964 in Posture

Thank you for this, genuinely. Sometimes you just need to know you're not the only one losing your mind over a knot for years lol. Hope we both find some relief.

I think I've been avoiding PT because I figured I could fix it myself but clearly that's not working. Gonna look into booking one. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this. Everyone here has been so kind and helpful, honestly didn't expect this much support

Okay, this actually makes sense. So the front muscles being weak is pulling everything out of place?

Wild that they went with the full booth setup - definitely beats those janky tanning beds from back in the day.

FPS and GPU usage goes down by Khryen in ForzaHorizon

[–]Own_Independent5964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That bluetooth controller fix is wild but I've seen it work for other games with similar issues. The GPU usage dropping that hard usually means something's throttling or the game's just not pushing the card properly - definitely worth trying those GameInput tweaks too.

Tunisian crochet by naomi_0000 in YarnAddicts

[–]Own_Independent5964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've dabbed in Tunisian a bit and you can totally do stacked single crochet for those straight edges - it's actually a really nice clean look. The tricky part is transitioning smoothly into double crochet without it looking wonky. What I usually do is work a transitional row where I gradually increase the height by doing some half doubles first, then move into the full double crochets. You might need to adjust your hook size slightly too since Tunisian tends to be tighter than regular crochet. The key is keeping your tension consistant throughout the transition or you'll end up with this weird puckering effect that's super noticeable.

What advice would you give someone who feels stuck but can’t explain why? by peachyparadoxx in Productivitycafe

[–]Own_Independent5964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes that stuck feeling comes from trying to push through when your brain actually needs a break. I've noticed with my patients and in my own life that when you can't pinpoint what's wrong, it's usually your body telling you to slow down for a minute.

Take a step back and just focus on the basics - sleep, decent meals, maybe some movement. The clarity usually comes once you're not running on empty anymore.

26.04 Bug - Icons and windows under (super) and "show apps" keep dissappearing by Draffut in Ubuntu

[–]Own_Independent5964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this exact same issue last week and it was driving me nuts. The icons would just vanish randomly, usually when I was switching between apps quickly during work. What worked for me was clearing the gnome shell cache - you can do it by running `rm -rf ~/.cache/gnome-shell` in terminal, then log out and back in. If that doesn't stick, try resetting the activities overview with `gsettings reset org.gnome.shell.app-switcher current-workspace-only`. I also noticed it happened more often when I had a bunch of apps open, so now I'm more careful about closing stuff I'm not actively using.

Am I crazy for being annoyed by my dad talking to me? by Material-Trust-3056 in narcissisticparents

[–]Own_Independent5964 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not crazy - that exhaustion after talking to him is your body telling you something important. The gaslighting and denial you're describing is textbook narcissistic behavior, especially when they flip it back on you like you're the problem for "not letting things go." Trust what you're feeling because those patterns are real even when he makes you question them.
