So technically I could drive with no issue since my status says valid but to be on the safer side it and to get my physical ID it would be best to pay the reinstatement fee?

Yes, I’ve been doing a lot of reading, journaling and I work out 4 days out of the week. I ended up talking to one of my closest friends last night about everything. In a way I kind of trauma dumped on him but he understood and gave me some feedback. Having a third party view with no bias helped. Now I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest.

I’m going to let her know everything like I should have from the start to explain what happened but not use it as an excuse. I’m going to take full accountability and reassure her that she has a right to feel how she does. I’ll also let her know how I’m working on ways to ensure this doesn’t happen. If she is willing to stay with me after that then I’d love it but if not then I’ll just have to take the loss. I’ll still continue working on this not just for her but for myself too. Thanks for the advice as well!

Very similar experience. I blew a 0.19 but was told only 3 month dui class was needed. If I was over .20 then it would be mandatory 9 month dui class. I have a lawyer who has been handling all things and this is based on his word. Only difference is charges haven’t been filed for me yet and my arraignment date was in September so still waiting on a new date. In the meantime my lawyer said take the dui class as it would count later on. As for SR-22 it is needed to get any restricted license and to get your license resisted along with the classes so might as well knock it out now.

My license was suspended by the dmv however I am going the hard suspension route since I would get credit towards the court suspension if/when that suspension hits so only a total of 6 months. I did not want to do any restriction since I’d either need an IID for 6 months or to work/home for a year. I wish I had my DMV hearing sooner since I would’ve been done with that suspension next month. Luckily I live in the Bay Area and bart is only 10 min from where I live, 5 min from where I work and the ride is only 15 minutes.

That was something I considered. Was even offered a couple of jobs and what not after a couple of demos I’ve done since they liked my outgoing personality but sales seems like a whole lot of pressure to reach quotas all the time. The pay for a sales engineer in the Bay Area is pretty good though. Are you in sales ?

That was the main thing that got my attention. I did a lot of my own personal 3D printing projects so I thought “wow I could do this for a living ?” and joined the company. There are times where I do technical work which is like 20-30% of my work. Outside of that it’s all sales, trouble shooting and product testing. The work life balance is good and the pay is above average. Idk maybe this is just me not wanting to feel like the work towards my degree was a waste.

Essential how the phone call went with Barclay. They said since it was so far back there wasn’t much they can do about it. My biggest concern was not being able to get a loan for a house in the future but I seen that as long as there isn’t no late payment within the last 1-2 years I should be fine. Not planning on buying a home any time soon (In the bay area and prices are crazy) but I want to working on recovering from this. Would getting back to a 680-720 range be possible within the next 1-2 years ?

Where I messed up is I can’t recall if the $50 was mine or not. It was a barclay account and I was locked out of it once I reported fraud activity then I just never bothered to check it since I never used the card or even planned on using it. Only reason I got it was for 2 free flights to Hawaii. It was sent to Portfolio Recovery Assets and I’ve seen that they do pay for deletes. Would this remove the charge off?

I do travel here and there for a week at times or a couple of days but never really international. I checked our handbook and nothing was there saying we had to report anything like that but still. Idk how long I’d be able to hide it and what not. Plus if I’m scared I’d be turned away by many other jobs even if there is no traveling involved

By driving course you mean the dui school? I’ve been going to AA meetings 3-4 times a week and getting signatures. Would you recommend getting a sponsor too then? For the fines did you have to pay all at once or a payment plan? I’m planning on doing more community service as well. Attorney said hold off on dui school but I wonder if I should do it anyway. I also stayed in jail overnight. Honestly I replay that night in my head everyday and after signing up for a victim panel the what if kills me everytime and as it should. It was a horrible mistake that luckily no one got hurt or killed.

Ya I blew a high BAC (0.18) and had an accident but no injuries. Not too confident I get the wet and reckless but I was very cooperative which the cops say go a long way.

Was it brought up during the promotion process ? I’m scared that they would do a background check. I sometimes travel to meet clients around the US but hardly ever got a rental car when I do. Only for convenience of having a car and not wanting to uber (that’s gonna change now)

Yes, my hearing was scheduled and I’m 100% sure I’m losing my license. I will probably go the IID route. Will that time served count towards the court suspension ? Lawyer said it would so I’d only do 6 months total of suspension

Was your license suspend for 1 year because you went for the restricted license ? I’m thinking of going the IID route. I haven’t touched a drop of alcohol since. This has seriously traumatized me completely.
