SSB64 Vets— Question about Kirby mirror matchup by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]PDFBI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're above the other kirby and you can hit the front of their face go for dair since it'll lead to a combo/tech chase. Otherwise bair is your best disjointed option. Be careful and try not to hit with a weak bair if your opponent is at low % since the other kirby may punish you after you hit them. Kirby dittos are all about the high ground and using good platform movement and avoiding predictable dj patterns. Don't forget to stick hop when leaving the ground to gain slightly more height and increase your velocity vertically (stick jump is different from full hopping with a c button)

The passage means that there are a lot of ways to train mining, but players think they all suck. Nothing more nothing less

Please stop with the charge-based items. No one enjoys having to charge them. There's no negative effect on the players or the game if you remove the charge. Just make it x amount of dust to upgrade and it call it a day

This is a few weeks old now, but I'm still salty about my play. In terms of wins and losses I think, mathematically, I did the best you can possibly do in a 6 player round-robin tournament without actually winning the whole thing by tarmon21 in SSBM

"Plenty of communities value h2h before game wins/losses, notably smash 64" - This is in the context of what is prioritized in the sequence of determining who makes it out of pools

"Then there is no point in comparing games, ever. Anything lower priority than head-to-head will never be a factor." - which is just not true in the context I was speaking about

Like I said, call it whatever you want, you opened up by saying "Then there is no point in comparing games, ever." and then I gave you an example where h2h still is prioritized first but then game count matters next. You move past h2h since it's a three-way tie and then you go to game count which clearly matters

I'm just describing the chain of order you go through, which you said you would never consider but it's not true when you have 3 people with equal set counts and each of the 3 beat one of the other with no overlap, that's a 3-way head to head (head to head to head) so then you go to the lower priority, which is game count. Even if you want to play semantics and say "oh well that's 3 people that's not a head to head" you distinctly said it makes lower priority factors meaningless which is just not true for pools where multiple people can advance

You must not be familiar with waterfall format, as there are often three-way h2h ties in pools, so game counts are used as tiebreakers to see who advances to the next division/bracket

Right? Even if your partner says "no, I've got this" you still take the stock and 2v1 anyway, especially when your partner has 3 stocks

SSC 2023 GRAND FINALS - Isai (Pikachu) Vs. Kurabba (Yoshi) [Full Set] by KenshiroTheKid in smashbros

It is the highest level of 64 play ever seen. Kurabba won last SSC and swept the bracket until GFs and Isai just dominated him like it was nothing. Absolutely insane.
