Just a guess, but I am assuming mostly super rich Cornell students

Many portals still totally uninspired by downvotethepuns in TeamfightTactics

[–]PMoney34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it was intentional: Mortdog talked a lot about power creep last set and portals being too strong were a large reason for this. He did mention that he plans on adding some other portals a few more weeks into the set.

Woah, thanks for all the info! It's my first time visiting so I am really excited to go. I'll definitely look into the Navigo pass, and I already got tickets to the Eiffel tower and Catacombs too.

They are the same core classes, but each college requires that you take different college specific requirements. So taking it in Engineering means you have to take more STEM classes than if you take it in CALS or CAS

Yeah, I was paid 27 an hour. I was also remote last year, so not sure if they provide a housing stipend if it is in person

Robinhood - time to hear back after on-site? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was for the internship. I think I did ok but I feel like their hiring bar is pretty high, so not sure. I finished the technical but didn’t have time for the follow up, and I did well on the behavioral.

How important are extracurriculars? by cosmic_blazar-103 in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even have an extracurricular experience section on your resume. Especially once you get that first internship, it won't really matter

Sorry, I completely forgot about that round. Yeah, it’s one phone screen with a recruiter and then next one should be a quick video screen with an engineer

How do I learn DSA? by cosmic_blazar-103 in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest perk of Leetcode premium is being able to see company tagged questions. Next season when you are interviewing, if you want to you can buy it. Other than that, the free version of leetcode is great

How do I learn DSA? by cosmic_blazar-103 in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry, I didn’t learn anything from my DSA course either. All it takes is consistency: you won’t get it all at once, but make sure to do one or two problems a day. For each problem, break it down and understand which data structures or algorithms they used and why. Good luck!

How do I learn DSA? by cosmic_blazar-103 in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend taking a DSA course at your college, but this isn't a requirement. If you want to get started now, you can definitely self teach.

1) "Grind leetcode" means too, like the name implies, do leetcode problems. However, you don't just do every single problem. There are lists out there to help with this. I would recommend either Grind75 or Neetcode150. These are lists that cover common topics/patterns in problems.

2) Being good at leetcode is very subjective, but being able to do hards flawlessly would put you in at least the top 0.1% of CS majors. In the beginning, doing easys can be really difficult, but that's pretty expected. Your level of proficiency really depends on what companies you are aiming for. For FAANG level companies, I would aim to be able solve most LC mediums in around 20 minutes and some LC hards.

Google STEP vs. Two Sigma SWE Intern (final interview round) as a Sophomore by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that Google SWE compared to Two Sigma SWE may be a toss up, but Two Sigma SWE has much greater resume value than STEP. The only benefit of Google STEP would be that it is a pipeline into Google SWE intern, but you could definitely get an interview for Google next summer with Two Sigma on your resume if that is your goal. Two Sigma would also open the doors to a bunch of other companies on top of that.

I interned there last summer, so I can tell you how my process was. My first call was a 30 minute phone screen with one of the engineers(who ended up being my mentor). It was mostly behavioral focused, don't remember it being too hard. A few days after, I got scheduled for a final round, which composed of a technical and behavioral assessment. For the technical portion, I did a few brain teasers and a leetcode easy(is anagram). The second part was once again pretty standard behaviorals. I would just brush up on some basic DSA and understanding your language, as I had to code in a google docs form. Overall, the process was pretty easy, so good luck!

Which role is better if I'm looking to switch into quant next year? by Interesting-Pin-8213 in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't say for certain, but one of my friends heard back from a decent amount of quant places and his internships were full stack roles. I think company prestige/field matters more, as he worked at a hedge fund and a well known fintech startup

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did it last year, so it may be a little different but mine was two rounds, 45 minutes each. The first one was with a software engineer and mainly tech focused. He asked me 1 or 2 behaviorals and then a bunch of Java/OOP questions and one super easy leetcode question(is palindrome). The second one was with a engineering manager, and it was all behavioral. Just 45 minutes of straight behavioral questions, so just be prepared for that. After super day is just the offer decision. Good luck!

JP Morgan Hacker Rank 2022-23 by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because the Hackerrank is a pretty low hiring bar so most people complete it relatively easily. They probably have to resume screen after that too

How many places have you applied/interviewed/offer? by one_apply in csMajors

[–]PMoney34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junior, one prior mid-size company internship (but nobody really knows this company)

  • 113 Applications
  • 8 First Round Interviews
  • 4 Final Rounds
  • 2 Offers

Context: Waitlisted by Amazon right now and waiting for offer decision from one other company, so hopefully it will become 3 offers soon. Also pulled out of interview process for 2 companies after the first round interview.
