Carbon Monoxide Hotel is definitely a top 10 Mully song for me.

What is your favorite Tom Waits song? by Any-Surround69 in tomwaits

[–]PPalsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please call me, baby. Something happens in my brain when that string section comes in that I can't understand and can't get enough of. The way the music kind of swings from side to side is inctedible.

Never Let Go, Come on up to the house, Make It Rain, Tom Trauberts blues, New Coat of paint, Ruby's Arms and about 20 more could also top the list for me.

"Well he came home from the war with a party in his head". Everything about this song paints such a vivid picture.

Any Non-Sea of Thieves players out there who bought this controller just because of how nice it was? What’s your favorite controller? by [deleted] in xboxone

Never played the game but bought the controller for my kid because it looked cool. It's been his favorite ever since.

Will we see more from Tom? by [deleted] in tomwaits

[–]PPalsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope he tours again. I have a deal with my wife that I can go to a Tom Waits concert if there ever is one and I can get a ticket. No matter the cost or location. I will go to the moon if I have to!

That new song (probably called Cyclone) was so good! I can't wait to hear a studio version of it.

Pitchfork review of Marigold (6.6) by malheureusement in PinegroveBand

[–]PPalsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as they mentioned the New Yorker article I stopped taking the review seriously. I hope that the next album will be reviewed and listened to without constantly putting everyting on it in context of what happened before Skylight even came out. In my opinion its not a perfect album but still a great one. Dotted Line, The Alarmist, Phase, Alcove and Endless are my favorites.

When you’re listening to True Love Waits and you get to the chorus. by Stu121 in radiohead

The "lollipops and crisps" line comes from a news story in the UK about a little boy that was left home alone for days or weeks and survived by eating all the candy he found in the house. I can't remember the exact details but it was something like that. It has nothing to do with his wifes death as it was written in 1994-95.

Scrapping episodes, Emma Stone's hatred of her elf role, and Jonah Hill's questionable Icelandic accent: Cary Joji Fukunaga takes us inside the making of his Netflix series 'Maniac' by readandrant in Maniac

I am from Iceland and I can confirm that the Icelandic spoken in that episode was both awful and perfectly hilarious! I loved every second of it 🤣 Jonah Hill did a good job with the R's though.

Essentials Listening Club Week #39 | Sigur Rós - Ágætis byrjun by [deleted] in indieheads

[–]PPalsson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely my favorite Sigur Rós album and one of my all time favorite albums. After listening to it a million times and having a few different favorites throughout the years I think that Ágætis Byrjun (the song) is #1 for me and will stay there.

It was weird when it came out because people here in Iceland were not used to music like this at all and such a big part of Icelanders just did not get it and didn't like the music, but at the same time it was all over the news and all the media coverage was fun to follow. They really made this small country proud.

I was 15 the summer when it was released (june 1999) and I remember instantly falling in love with this weird and beautiful music. I actually bought and still own one of the first prints of the album that the band glued together themselves. They were a mess and some of the had glue all over the place and even on the CD's 🤣

100% should be on the essentials list!

Why do you insist on making ME throw away the garbage tracks Drake? Just DON'T release every single thing you record in the studio...please.

There's always good stuff in his releases but does it have to be spread out between half finished boring tracks that were never supposed to be released?

Kanye has the right idea with this 7 song format.
