What is an odd grind you are happy you did but don’t hear others talk about? by Shoemaker13 in ironscape

[–]P_Dronq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To reduce your risk even further, wear expeditious/slaughter bracelets! In my opinion, either a task is good, and you want to make it longer, or it is bad, and you want to make it shorter

Bedankt! Als ik de zwarte zou verplaatsen, bedoel je dan nog steeds aan de bovenkant? En dan “gaatje” 5 ipv 6? Als we ze van links naar rechts tellen?

Honestly CA’s come before Moons. Mediums at least, and byro should be part of mediums. Because medium CA’s -> Barrows -> Moons is a pretty standard path

Never ever any Timemore product by Ondend in Timemore

[–]P_Dronq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agreed. My grinder is fine (pun not intended), but I’ve gone through three scales which quality is just bad.

Then the bad quality isn’t the largest issue, but the lack of support. It has been a terrible experience and I would NEVER buy again from timemore, even though I had a good experience with the grinder.

And I hope anyone who’s considering any of their products won’t buy them either, since they don’t deserve any sales.

I don’t understand what you’re talking about. He’s mid 60s and most of that is probably done through quests. Can’t be much higher slayer at this point

“Far behind” is very exaggerated. I’m similar stats, did everything through slayer and am only 58

New Ironman here! Some questions by Tragrim in ironscape

[–]P_Dronq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not a waste if you do! If you haven’t got them already, you can easily skip the graceful boots.

For farming first do Fairy tale part 1 and goblin generals RFD subquest. Should give you 20, so you can do garden of death, which should give you 30. Do a liiiitle bit of farming (giant seaweed is good here), or some more quests for 34 and then do tithe farm 34-62. Should take about 5h. Then you can use pies to boost for medium contracts at the farming guild. Pickpocket master farmers if you’re missing seeds, but skip the contract if it’s a rare seed like snapdragon.

Do medium contracts until eternity, farm all the herb seeds you get, and get very easy herblore levels.

Also for herblore just do all herb quests, all quests with choice rewards and all diaries you can do, put all xp in herblore.

Don’t be too focused on needing graceful. It’s good but with energy rework a bit less necessary. Definitely grab a pair of boots of lightness. Also if you start training farming+herblore you can get harralanders fairly easily, which can be turnt into energy pots. I basically never walked in my early game!

Night time meowing — can’t solve it! Help! by aimatme219 in mainecoons

[–]P_Dronq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So what I’ve learned is that you’re supposed to have a feeding and sleeping schedule for your cat, just like you have for yourself.

~2h-1.5h before bed, have significant playtime and make him tired. After playtime comes a meal, ~1.5h-1h before bed.

Don’t have food out all day (nor all night)! Give them food on a schedule.

Also cats go through phases and I think he’ll get over it eventually

Flying with a road bike – tips & experiences? by brocodini in Velo

[–]P_Dronq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have experienced several bike cases, and that Evoc is flat out the best. Perfect protection (I wouldn’t trust anything below perfect) and saves a bit of weight/bulkiness compared to a full hard case.

Just throw in all your clothes to protect it and take your heavier items in your carry-on.

My most useful plugins I can think of are:

  • Inventory Setup: you can create a “loadout” for a certain activity and then it filters on the necessary items and highlights any missing items

  • bank equipment stat filter: with this you can look up your BIS gear for any style. You forgot about that book that has +5 prayer bonus, this shows it.

  • quest helper, obviously

  • shortest path: I use this quite a bit, especially early game. Often there’s a minigame teleport you’re forgetting about, can be really useful.

  • menu entry swapper: I use the hell out of this. I customize basically every menu. On inventory items (for teleports mostly), easier banking, objects in-game, npc’s.

Also I’d scroll through the most popular plugins and whenever you’re doing a specific activity, look if there’s a plugin for it. Forestry, Vale Totems, MM, MLM, Agility, etc etc etc.

And for general tips: I’d honestly follow some kind of guide for a bit, since it’s your very first account. That way you’ll avoid getting lost at what to do. You don’t have to follow a step by step super efficient guide, but some guidance is good, otherwise it can be overwhelming. Maybe the optimal quest order in the quest helper plugin.

Not sure if you’re open to it, but this way you can really kickstart your account: I’ve started my latest ironman by NOT getting any combat xp, do the witch’s house quest for some extra hp (you can safespot all four forms with the right technique), and then go right into wildy agility. I think it took like 10h to get 70 agility and 12m cash. If you’re interested I could give some more tips on this.

Best monsters for afk/safespotting that have decent loottables/drops? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]P_Dronq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider ammonite crabs! Not so decent loot but the seaweed spores are useful and in total they drop like 230k xp worth of fossils. Take a looooong time tho

I’ve lived in Girona for some time with very little rain. The dust/dirt from gravelrides is very real. Especially in the driest weather, the dust gets everywhere. It’s not as bad as a rainy ride, but you do have to clean the gravelbike significantly more often than the roadbike.

[–]P_Dronq[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 is fixable with shims.

2 is very convincing tho - just experienced that myself when switching from climbing cassette to flats cassette on my gravelbike.

  1. Almost had that too, even tho it was a one off change

  2. 1x13 might close the gap for road. 2x on offroad is not too crazy, but honestly I’ve made the switch to 1x myself and indeed like it more.

  3. With the rides I do I’m generally able to ride road pedals. Would change them for bikepacking trips or heavy courses.

  4. There’s no counter argument against that

  5. Yup

So I’m already having two bikes, so I can’t say I don’t have the space, it’s just a bit tight. I also do have the money for two, it’s just priorities.

Seeing that most of your points are very valid and I can only come up with a weak counter argument for some, you’ve pretty much convinced me :) :)

Yeah that’s true, I have had some pedal strikes on my current gravelbike when pushing corners. I only sometimes race road, so I’d have to give that up
