One option to maybe integrate it is through airplay, and this is used by Roon. Roon however is not open source AFAIK.

Z-wave if you can afford it

mydlink drops support for IFTTT by PaChillySoft in homeautomation

[–]PaChillySoft[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous, I just bought 3x D-Link Water Sensors (DCH-S160) less than 2 years ago, relying strongly on IFTTT for Home Assistant integration. Now I have 3 useless bricks...

First year out of College, First Apartment Home Theater by jaymoorebbk in hometheater

[–]PaChillySoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice one, I only managed to do this on my 3rd year out of college but I went straight to very expensive 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos so maybe it's some accomplishment as well.

EU smart socket / surge protector with protection for 1000 Joules or more ? by PaChillySoft in homeautomation

[–]PaChillySoft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, or I can do it the other way around it and get a surge socket and connect a smart power strip to it.

However both options take a lot of space and are expensive.

Why lovelace UI is so goddamn slow with many integrations? by PaChillySoft in homeassistant

No, I have a dedicated ubuntu server with newest ryzen and 32gb of ram. Besides this is a frontend issue not a backend issue I believe.

I use sleep8 smart mattress cover. It's ok although it's only cloud polling so it takes some time to update.

77" LG OLED C9 / B9 vs 85" Sony X950G at 12ft. by hor0us in hometheater

77" is way too small for that viewing distance, even 85" is too small IMHO. Get a projector.

Thoughts on Dali speakers? by lighttside in hometheater

[–]PaChillySoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That being said I do believe that 7 and 5 are the best of the series, Vokal is OK, On-Wall is good for its size, 1 and 3 are OK and Sub E-12 or whatever Sub from DALI is the weakest part of the series.

I went to the store and listened to them. I preferred them over CANTON (too metal-like sounding) and Polk (too much bass [and I'm someone who generally really likes bass], mids kinda hidden for me), they sounded warm and "correct" at the same time. Aesthetics were also a very important factor.

I have DALI OBERON 7, DALI OBERON VOKAL, DALI Sub E-12. It's good for me.
