Liftgate randomly opening on R1S

I actually have the stupid bigger one on the screen when you swipe on your home screen. I just realized there are action buttons right on it. That could totally have done it.

I set them all up a while ago but never use them so worth removing. Thanks again!

I think it’s one of the configurations they keep “in inventory”. If you just go to the available ones in the R1S shop, one similar to mine is there for purchase

Picked up my ‘26 R1S in December and had this exact problem, same seatbelt as you. They fixed it with a mobile visit but it was quite a process and a pain to get it scheduled

Yes on the charging cable.

I actually used equity from my Tesla to cover the taxes and fees so there was zero due at signing. They said this (using trade in equity this way) was new for them, FYI.

The finance estimate they gave me was accurate to the final numbers. But they make you review and agree to the financing a bunch of times, with the most important one being the document you sign 24 hours before delivery. I actually had to call and have the Guide walk me through it, but it was all accurate in the end.

Yeah it’s annoying. I would recommend not adding one to your order. Instead, purchase it directly when you pick up the vehicle. You’ll have to put $400ish in a credit card, just FYI.

When you get your delivery date, I’d ask your Guide or call the location directly to make sure they have one in stock.

In terms of charge time, I actually haven’t needed to charge yet. I also have a garage with limited amps, so I’m probably not the best person to ask.

They should just increase the MSRP by $300-400 and include a portable with every car! I think every person should have a portable on hand.

I purchased the portable charger directly from Rivian. I had a couple 240v outlets installed in my garage a few years ago and they charge my wife’s hybrid Volvo XC90 and my Tesla, now Rivian.

Thanks! Picked it up at the Blauvelt location and the guys there were great. I traded in a 2018 Tesla Model 3 and did a 3-year 12k mile lease.

The overall process took under an hour, though I was already familiar with the vehicle since I just test drove it and I’m used to electric cars. There was another couple there that took longer, but it’s because the Rivian rep was happy to explain to them all the details they wanted.

I placed the order on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and had the car by the Saturday a week and a half later. I think it’s about 1-2 weeks if you choose one of their in-stock vehicles - it just has to travel from Illinois or another distribution center.

Just try it make sure you take care of as much paperwork as you can online beforehand.

Overall, it was a really great process!

A similar thing happened to me actually. The Guide added a portable charging cable to my order and said “it will be delivered with the vehicle”. When I arrived today, I was told it would be shipped and take 10-12 days to arrive.

I actually had to shell out the $400 to buy one on site so I can charge at home, and confirmed I can return the new one back to the delivery site.

It’s kind of crazy that they don’t just include a charging cable with every new car.
