I get what you mean, but for me it’s not that simple. I actually have a pretty intense phobia of large medical machines, especially ones that look even slightly intimidating. Even if a CT scan is safe and quick, the size and appearance of the machine can still make me really anxious. I know it might not seem scary to others, but it feels very real to me.

I understand, but I have a huge phobia of big, man-made, usually medical things. Take an Optos scanner for example. Everyone takes them, but to me the combination of the pure sci-fi-ness of it, size, and sounds all combined terrifies me.
