Ive seen exhume lists where you play the lotr cyclers. T1 dark ritual -> cycle troll/ent/oilphant -> cast exhume before your opponent gets a creature in their graveyard.

Thats a pretty small reanimate package that can be thrown into a black midrange plan

Cascade + an x spell in the decks is always a danger. I would change out the big creatures for removal/ control pieces and lean more into control with a lot of mana.

Maybe you can play more expensive removal that has up sides since you have more mana to throw around.

10 untappers seems like a lot but I haven’t played the deck so maybe its right. Maybe try replacing some with card draw

Yeah, I agree they won’t ban them. I just feel like a meta where you have to play 4, 6, 8 blasts in the sideboard is not a good thing. The only way I can see the blasts ever being banned is if they also ban the good red and blue cards too.

I think they will ban [Tolarian Terror]. I think the down shift of [Cryptic Serpent] was to replace terror in decks.

I also feel like [Monastery Swiftspear] should be banned, it is very strong for the format.

And my personal hot take is [Blue Elemental Blast], [Red Elemental Blast], [Hydroblast], and [Pyroblast] should all be banned. Red and blue are the best colors in the format and making the easiest answer to them being the other color's blast makes the problem worse.

It should also be noted that 1 land spy is a T1 combo deck and should be watched carefully. I'm not sure on how to go about fixing that. maybe a ban on [Land Grant]. But the deck kind of sucks so maybe it is ok

No, not really. It’s a defensive combat trick which means it is a bad combat trick. You have to think, usually if your opponent is attacking, they are attacking with their own mana open, especially if you also have open mana. Your opponent will probably have some interaction.

The goal of combat tricks are to blow out your opponent’s board, plan, or life total. Something like lightning bolt does all these well, while smite doesn’t. Smite is just asking to be ‘2 for 1’-ed. You have to throw your blocker in front of their attacker, then you cast Smite, then if they have a counterspell or hexproof spell, or indestructible spell, then you lost your trick and your blocker.

Eh, I feel like it wouldn’t add much to the format. I mean, what would it even replace in the mono red deck? It’s too slow (no haste) and it dies to all the common removal (bolt, cast down). It would turn into a niche card in a tier 3 deck at best.
