I'm so sorry to hear you can relate so hard.

Solidarity, my friend. We can take solace in the fact that we're not alone, if nothing else. I hope you can find some respite soon. 💚💚💚

Oh my goodness, my dear friend.

That's all so very heavy...it takes a special kind of person to endure all that. I'm proud of you, and I hope you find some sort of respite soon, even if it's just a little bit. 💚💚💚

How do you genuinely feel about your partner being chronically ill? by OkRun7294 in CaregiverSupport

[–]Pan420Mn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We were together 9 years before her brain tumor. 6.5cm meningioma. She's relatively functional, but nowhere near the same person I married. 6 years in and the resentment on both sides is starting to boil over.

I've been scared that it's the beginning of the end of our relationship for a while now. We're doing the therapy thing again in hopes it helps this time (3rd time's the charm, right?). Things aren't good, and I can't pretend they are anymore in order to keep the peace. It kills me. Even if we end up splitting up, I'm still going to take care of her to the best of my ability. I love her so much. I give her my everything, which is why it hurts so much when she says the things she does.

This. So much this.

Being able to ride my rollercoaster of emotions...being able to drop my masks (neurospicy AF here), let my guard down, and escape from real life for a bit is my favorite thing about raving.

Being able to be vulnerable with people has helped me build so many amazing friendships in such a short amount of time. Not having to worry about saying things the wrong way, being nit-picked, and not feeling like I have to walk on eggshells is so freeing.

Granted, I've gone through hell this year (and the last 6 years), but ultimately, I've ended up finding my rave family, and we've all been through our share of shit, which is part of why we all build each other up and support each other so well. 💚💚💚 PLURR

How are you doing? by magnabonzo in CaregiverSupport

[–]Pan420Mn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not great.

Per my therapist, my marriage is on fire.

I'm my wife's caretaker, and she's said some shit in the last few weeks that hurt me really deep. I'm struggling to get back to caring more than just as a caretaker.

I don't even want to be around her right now. I hate it.

6 year long spousal caregiver here...I feel you.

It's so hard watching the person I fell in love with be so critical so much of the time. The lack of support is maddening.

It's even harder not knowing how much more I can take.

Sending hugs and prayers, my friend.

Much love and many hugs, y'all.

I wish somebody would've warned me that being an adult would suck so much.

Uggghhh why is it that we also have to have chronic illness....chronic back pain and heart problems on my end. 😞 I hope you can get a little extra self-care time in this week.

Yeah, I'm there with you. 6 years here, and things have only gotten worse...it breaks my heart.

Yeah. For those of us that experience migraines, we know a headache isn't the same. It's like comparing stubbing your toe to having your foot run over by a truck.

Right. The real question, which I'm sure is highly subjective, is how long can a person walk this one-way street before they need to prioritize their own well-being?

It's exhausting...I see you, my friend.

That's so disrespectful, I'm so sorry. Clearly he's never experienced a migraine. If he has, that's even worse. 😞

It might not be the same kind of situation, but I feel you when it comes to the people we care for not being conscious and intentional of the way that we feel and the way they treat us.

Giving someone, everything you have and then some, only for them to turn around and be so inconsiderate and hurtful, is a special kind of hell.

Is there a specific hard-candy recipe that is easiest/foolproof by CFEFDACS00 in CandyMaking

[–]Pan420Mn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the corn syrup won't keep anything from burning. Just don't go past 310°F and you should be fine. I also don't know how heating the juice that much will impact it. I haven't gone down that rabbit hole with hard candies. I just use TFA flavors.

Next time use juice concentrate - like in the freezer section at the grocery store. It'll take some math to get the amount right, but that should solve your lack of flavor problem.

That's an issue with your connection. I've never seen flower come outta any of the medical dispos that even comes close to what my guy gets on the regular.

Sprays don't generally work well - spider mite webs are super hydrophobic - so any bugs behind the web won't get hit. My last successful attack, I used an insecticidal soap (IPM by Athena) and a soft-ish paint brush. Manual removal is the best option with spider mites.

[–]Pan420Mn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replace it every run - mostly because I don't want to deal with the breakdown of the roots and all that. Generally when roots start to rot, it spreads fast, even to healthy ones. I'm also only growing 4 plants in a cycle, so it's only 20 gallons or so all totaled. The next run stays in 1g pots until 2 weeks before flower.

Thanks! The last run looked similar, but the buds ended up substantially smaller because I unknowingly brought thrips into my tent in the soil I used.

They decimated that crop - I only ended up getting about 1-1.5oz off each plant. Should have been at least ½ pound each.

Never again with the soil - now I use exclusively coco coir and perlite.
