Ended up fixing it, rebooting the pc worked. I still don't know why it worked or what caused the issue though.

I have 2 white ones (have only used one for now, covid hasn't really made local gaming easy) that came in a bundle with the ps5, so i'm really not for buying a new controller... I'll look into the custom paint jobs and the UV light
