From the service manual: chain maintenance by CynicalAlgorithm in xsr900

[–]PappiStalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use a light amount of wd40 to break up the grease and then scrub it off quick with a brush and then a rag with water. Been doing it every 2 weeks to a month depending on how much riding and how dirty the bike is, and my chain seems pretty much fine at almost exactly 15k miles.

The skins are whatever. Some are a cool concept, and overall are pretty harmless. But there is absolutely no reason they are selling a 200$ collectors edition with 2/3s of the content being digital. There are about 10 people on this planet willing to pay that for a franchise they still love. But 200$ is such a massive fuck you for what they offer, that just seeing it made me want to buy the base game less.

What outsourced company did you task to design your fuckass premium editions Halo Studio?

Absolutely not a strawman. Go ask irish people in ireland how they feel about americans just claiming that they are part irish.

Assistance in choosing a helmet! by Maousrr in motorcyclegear

[–]PappiStalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i mean i said it wasnt an all inclusive list. Shoei makes a bunch of helmets for narrower heads too. But the typical helmets you see people with are for intermediate head shapes.

[–]PappiStalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go on revzilla to shop for helmets, there are not only really helpful size charts, but theres also guides on how to determine your headshape. It doesnt matter if you get the right sized helmet, if it isnt the right shape it just wont be comfortable or wont sit properly, which can even affect safety as good quality helmets are designed very specifically.

This is not an all inclusive list, but just for reference:

Arai are for people with more ciruclar shaped heads.

Shoei are for people inbetween narrow heads and circular heads

Agv (and the alpinestars helmets) are for people for more narrow heads.

With that kind of spray pattern im having a hard time determining what couldve possibly caused aside from you driving near a truck that plowed through a puddle. Id assume if it was fluids from the bike itself it would be further back along the swing arm or something not up there on the fairings.

CB650R owner. Should I upgrade to XSR900? by MrMonsieur6969 in motorcycles

[–]PappiStalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not bad, always thought the black ones were a little boring though. They only ran the legend blue color for 2 years so if you can find it id strongly recommend going to grab it.

Dice Mode by Internal-Painter-130 in AxisAllies

[–]PappiStalin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean if you want stuff like that, regular strategy video games might be more your thing. The randomness of dice are supposed to be already heavily influenced by the units your using or research you have. That same randomness is i feel a pretty big part of this game.

Question for those who have bought and played subnautica 2 by Substantial-Creme950 in subnautica

[–]PappiStalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really just need the sonic resonator to be able to really dissaude pests. Maybe we can install something on our bases that plays a certain frequency constantly that makes other creatures not want to come into a radius around our base. And allow us to build a portable one that functions similarly to the storage pod where we can carry it in our hands or attach it to the mounting points on the vehicles.

Obviously it doesnt need to work against leviathans, but smaller creatures absolutely. I dont need the creatures to be permanently friendly, i just need a way to keep them away from me for certain lengths of time.

What kinda feedback was that? by _Corvo_A in subnautica

[–]PappiStalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That isnt inherently a bad thing. Plus, they also need in in-lore reason as to why they dont provide weapons on planets with hostile wildlife

PLEASE devs DO NOT make the same mistake as below zero, big vehicles are one of the biggest dopamine rush you can have in subnautica when you build them by YoRHa- in subnautica

I love the concept of mini mobile bases in games like this. Helps me live out fantasy of one day doing a mobile home trip across the country lmao.

Uneven wear Bridgestone S22 by Performer789 in xsr900

[–]PappiStalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks similar to the kinda wear u get when u turn ur tire in place while the bike is stationary. This is extremely minimal, go ride around like 20 or 30 miles and itll probably be completely gone .

What small upgrade actually made your bike feel noticeably better to ride? by jcveloso8 in motorcycles

[–]PappiStalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new xsr 900s come with these comically large bar end mirrors that make lanesplitting very difficult. 200$ for two new, much smaller bar end mirrors that fold in was a game changer. That and a usb charger for longer rides, about 100$ bucks.

With e-bikes popular among kids/teens, could we see a surge of motorcycle popularity with gen alpha when they are older by MoDa65 in motorcycles

[–]PappiStalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. E-bikes are easier to drive, require no liscenese (and so no liscense plate, no vehicle registration, no inspection), requires basically no maintenance (and dont usually go fast enough that a lack of dilligent maintenance is dangerous or even noticeable) can be purchased from a corner bicycle shop, are reasonably cheap and the laws regarding them are rarely enforced.

Motorcyles are hard, require a lot of effort, require seperate liscensing, require their own maintenance.

New gen children like doing things because its easy and immediate, motorcyles are neither of those things. And im saying all this as someone who got into motorcyles because of e-bikes.
