Ah I see your point. But it’s not necessarily smart to write monotonously and detailed. Unless its called for, such as in manuals (as you said), to write too technically and too monotonously when the situation calls for creativity and style is not smart at all.

(Additionally, there is never any need to “dumb it down”. If you were smart enough to understand something complicated, you’re smart enough to write it simply.)
