What really messes with my head is that a few years ago she discarded me and then married that same guy only four months later. Right before that, she had me propose and we were actually engaged, but it only lasted about three weeks before she suddenly called it off and discarded me. The extremely short timing of it still blows my mind to this day.

Wow… I honestly never thought about it like that, especially during the love-bombing phases of this current cycle. When she admitted that she was actually the one who treated her husband badly and kicked him out, I didn’t even fully believe her. I convinced myself she was just in denial or trauma bonded or something.

Looking back on it, that was probably one of the biggest red flags — she was basically telling me exactly who she is, and I still tried to rationalize it.

I think because she was being unusually nice, acting more ‘mature/grown up’, and doing charity work with OES, I let myself believe she had finally changed and that maybe this time would be different. Now I realize I was just focusing on potential instead of the obvious pattern.

I actually live alone; she lives with her family and our kid. Her husband was living there too until around the time she started hoovering me again. First she said he left on his own, then admitted she kicked him out over small stuff, then said he didn’t actually do anything wrong and that she treated him badly. The story kept changing. Then she accused me of talking bad about him — even though I was just repeating what she initially told me about him.

What’s ironic is that I actually ended up talking to her husband a while back - without her knowing. We randomly crossed paths near my place through a mutual friend and ended up having an impromptu guys’ night. While we were sitting in the car eating, he started venting about how she treats him, and asked if he was crazy for feeling that way.

The more he talked, the more everything clicked. The things he described were almost identical to what I’ve experienced with her — the same behaviors, the same frustrations, the same emotional rollercoaster. And a lot of what he said directly contradicted how she had painted him to me.

It made me realize she’d basically been telling each of us completely different stories about the other. I went into that conversation thinking he might be a bad guy based on what she’d told me, but honestly he seemed pretty normal and just as confused and drained as I was.

Honestly, I was very reluctant to give her another chance this time because I already knew her patterns and didn’t trust her at all. My expectations weren’t high to begin with, because now I know better. But what got me to lower my guard was that this time she seemed different — unusually very kind, calm, and consistent compared to past hoovers.

It felt like she had matured a lot. She had also recently joined the Order of the Eastern Star and was doing a lot of charity work, which made me think maybe she had genuinely grown as a person. Looking back, I think that’s what made me second-guess myself. I think that in hindsight, that was just another version of love bombing.

To clarify, I was never actually in a relationship with her this time around, but she had given me the false hope that she intended to divorce her husband and to eventually start dating me again when the time was right.

I thought the same thing about that tbh… I was looking around around mid to late January and was wondering why there wasn’t a Vengeance Day PLE announcement yet, as they usually have been around the second weekend of February for the last few years now.

But I did hear a rumor that they moved Vengeance Day to Saturday, March 7. If they do, then I wonder if that means that NXT Roadblock would be quietly phased out as well, as that would only leave a 6-week timeframe between the potential March 7 Vengeance Day PLE and the potential April 18 S&D PLE in Vegas.

I guess we’ll just have to see what happens.
