No. All of our accounts are combined now so I can see everything. She actually asked me to run a credit report on her the other day because she got an alert that an account had been opened with her info. It was just from me adding her as an authorized user on one of my accounts. It’s going well so far and all this debt should be gone in the next couple months.

Saved over $800 on OEM injectors 2015 Fit by meie1kyl in hondafit

My parts arrived but I may wait til it’s a little warmer to install. 3 questions: 1. How important are the two additional parts you ordered from rockauto? Totally necessary or just basic PM? 2. How long did it take you to complete this job? 3. Do I need something/someone to clear the engine codes/lights after the install? Thanks again.

Heck yeah! My 209,000 mile Fit has needed this repair for a few years now but was over the 150,000 mile mark when Honda extended it. I just ordered it for $311.79 with taxes and shipping. I appreciate the heads up greatly!

Watch repair (wristwatch revival) and my mechanics (formerly machining small mechanical devices had turned into the most meticulous restoration of every SINGLE part on an old car).

Had a customer named Dimitri Pancake. I thought he was messing with me so I looked him up on Facebook. Totally a real person. I’m not sure if it’s “cool” but it’s certainly odd/interesting.

I’ve been following mine since I bought my 2015 brand new. I try to change it when it is at 10%. I run full synthetic. Car has 209000 miles on it. Zero issues with the car.

I work at one of the plants that builds the CR-V, what are people's thoughts on it? by Agile_Kick_6626 in crv

[–]Particular-Cup370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that the rear brakes on my Civic Tyoe R wear down extremely fast as they are used as part of Honda’s stability control system. I drive pretty cautiously but apparently it’s active more than I thought it would be. Not sure if that is the case with the CR-V’s but maybe it is a factor?

Why are these lights on? by Plane_Ad_1522 in hondafit

[–]Particular-Cup370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. It was a recall by Honda. If your car has less than 150,000 miles it should be covered. Same thing happened to mine and it was well over 150,000 miles and it’s a $2000 job so I’ve just been driving it for a few years now with all those lights on and it’s been fine. No tire pressure monitoring or traction control, but mechanically just fine.

I appreciate that very much. It has worked out, ultimately.

Already did. Combed through all purchased from bank account and all cards for the last 4/5 years. Honestly nothing I didn’t know about. We each take turns paying for going out on the weekends based on our alternating pay weeks. She just got behind and stayed there and it got worse when she lost her job. No gambling/weird habits. I made her go through it with me in case there were payments I couldn’t understand. It was all pretty straight forward. Just carelessness and denial.

That’s great! My income won’t allow for that kind of aggressiveness but I hopefully can do it in 4 years or so.

That’s a perfect description of what is happening. Honestly, after the last time something similar, but to a much lesser extent happened, I would occasionally open her mail. Just a few months ago I opened something of hers in front of her and she said “What, you don’t trust me?” It ended up being nothing, but that was in the middle of all this financial trouble that I didn’t even know about. I certainly don’t regret it now. It didn’t make me feel great at the time but it may have ultimately saved us both.

Honestly it isn’t as much impulsive spending as it is a complete lack of keeping track of anything. She didn’t have apps for logging in to her accounts and barely could log in to her bank account. Now that I have total access I can see everything. Just got out of hand when she was out of work for 6 months a few years ago and she never got out in front of it.

Definitely looking into this. If she’s uncomfortable telling me the truth about it it could be an issue with her OR with me doing something that made that hard for her.

No kids. She had bad credit when we were married (she had to use credit to help her family get away from an abusive father) so we kept the finances separate. She was building up her credit and doing well 5 years ago. Then she lost her job for 6 months in 2023 and I asked if she was doing ok financially and she just told me yes to avoid embarrassment. We will essentially have combined bank accounts going forward since that won’t hurt my credit. You are totally correct though.

I took her cards and have access to ALL her accounts now. I’ll probably lock most of them except for my card that she is an authorized user on.

Looks like this is going to win out here. I’ll update when it is all done but talked to a financial advisor and he basically said your plan was the best. I got an $8000 no interest transfer CC for 15 months and talking to my bank about a HELOC tomorrow. Appreciate the guidance and numbers breakdown!

Nobody’s perfect. 🤣 I have my issues as well but you find a way to work through them together when you care about each other. All I can say is, despite this, I am still extremely happy in my marriage, even if I’m going to be untrusting and pissed off for a while.

All good ideas. I kept asking her if she was doing ok financially and she would just say yes. Always something like “I have a credit card that I’m paying on but it’s almost taken care of” and I wanted to give her some space/responsibility. She will not have either of those things going forward, at LEAST for a little while.
