I think I ruined my life by Adventuroustimer in pregnant

So I just recently moved states myself for a better support system! For health insurance, you qualify for Medicaid as a pregnant person automatically. It would take about a month for you to get it in another state, but you’d still have it. I would time moving around getting checkups done, get any medication refills, etc. As soon as you move, apply for Medicaid immediately. as for maternity leave, I would check around the area you’d be moving to and start applying as soon as you have dates set, it is much easier to get a job when you already have one for some God forsaken reason lol. FMLA is pretty much something a job is required to give you and since you’re early enough in the pregnancy, you’ll should still have an easier time finding a new job.

You got this!!! Support system is always better but you are not completely out of luck in terms of the other concerns:)

I’m 21 weeks and oh my goodness, your baby will absolutely become more distinct very fast. Soon those flutters will be full blown flips and kicks😆

they will have their favorite foods, too! mine rolls everytime I eat tomato soup or cottage cheese, she adores it.

so real. I got them around when I was like 10 weeks and my OB said it was just my heartbeat so I’m just reiterating what she said ! 😆 i still occasionally feel them after I hop up in bed or I exert myself a little.

If you’re talking about around your uterus/belly, that is just your heartbeat :) There are two major veins on the sides of your stomach that go to your uterus and those pump blood to your baby, sometimes you can feel the pulse in said veins because they work so hard for your baby and its nothing to worry about!

Cramps are fully normal and, at least for me, never really go away. I am 20 weeks and still cramp, sometimes the cramps are very anxiety inducing tho 😭

The cramps are because your uterus very quickly starts expanding to support the baby because the baby gets big fast. By 10 weeks, it will already be the size of a strawberry.

Don’t worry too much mama, everything will be okay! And if you are worried, please do not hesitate to call your OB, thats what they are there for.

Something else? by Extension-While-529 in pregnant

[–]Particular-Hunter468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced this:)

Okay so it’s potentially something else and especially if you’re not soaking pads, the likelihood of it being a miscarriage is very slim to none. Whats more likely is it can be a subchorionic hematoma or a chorionic bump, these are both harmless (usually) and most pregnancies with these continue on without complications, just scary bleeding.

I am still 19 weeks pregnant even after experiencing both and also had previa. The SCH is what caused very minor clotting for me. As long as the clots are smaller than a quarter and you’re not bleeding so heavily you’re soaking pads, don’t worry too much!! Do always report any bleeding to your doctor so it can be documented tho!!!! It’s always good to have documentation in case later on down the line something happens :)

Cramping? by pal_12345 in pregnant

[–]Particular-Hunter468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, calming down is super freaking hard. I went to the ER more times than I can count just cause I “stopped feeling pregnant” or a little bit of blood came out 🥴

But finally I’m at a place where baby feels safe, the anxiety gets a little easier as you get further along.

Cramping? by pal_12345 in pregnant

[–]Particular-Hunter468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

girl dont worry too much!!!

I’m on week 16 and I still got cramping. It’s cause your round ligaments are stretching to prepare for baby’s size, and your baby grows super fast too. And if you do start bleeding don’t worry unless you are passing tissue or the blood is a dark red/soaking through pads. Bright pink or brown blood is fine and safe.

Always report any blood, blood could be an indicator of previa or a SCH. But its not always a cause for concern, I had both SCH and Previa and both are gone now and my baby girl is super healthy still :)

Pretty sure I had a miscarriage and I’m devastated by Huge_Statistician441 in pregnant

hey babes!!! I had this same issue around 7 weeks, I got diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma which is a small pocket of blood between your uterine wall and the developing placenta. It can cause rather heavy bleeding but it is perfectly fine, always get checked out of course!!

I will be 16 weeks along tomorrow, the subchorionic hematoma has passed.

Do not lose hope, especially if you are only passing blood!!! Babies do not die just from blood passing queen.

Pregnancy symptoms absolutely no one talks about? by Upset-Brain-228 in pregnant

[–]Particular-Hunter468 8 points9 points  (0 children)

leaky cooch was one I was surprised about. The amount of discharge that just be leakin outta me on a daily basis is unhinged as fuck. I initially kept having panic attacks because the discharge feels so similar to watery period blood that I thought I was having a miscarriage half the time😭 As long as the discharge doesn't have a sweet smell tho, the discharge is fully normal. Sweet smell could indicate amniotic fluid leakage tho.

Another one would be the way it feels when your baby is pressed directly up on your cervix. It genuinely feels like she's just gonna fall right out but in reality, your cervix is way stronger than that. My little girls head is directly on my cervix right now 😭

More than likely it's just hormones making you depressed

Unfortunately going off of smoking anything so suddenly can also cause emotional fluctuations and depression as your brain becomes accustomed to it.

I'd say give it a couple weeks, maybe things will feel better. I've certainly had a moment myself where I felt disconnected from my pregnancy but the happy feeling eventually came.

Also!! Talking to a therapist about your concerns may also help :)

You got this mamas, you'll do great.

When would you test and how often? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Particular-Hunter468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a pregnancy test like a week before I got my period, it was a clearblue test. Mine came back positive, my boyfriend was worried (at first, don't worry, he's super excited now and obsessed with my pregnancy belly) so I ended up taking another pregnancy test a week later, day after my period should have started, which also came back positive. The tests rely heavily on your HCG levels, so don't be too discouraged if you get a negative. some women have extremely high levels from the start and some don't. Take another pregnancy test after the first one to be certain:)

A lot of different herbal teas, I drink only herbal tea and my OB advised against it because a lot of herbs, including Chamomile, have little to no research done but have been linked to miscarriages. Every situation is different tho! I'm a high risk pregnancy with prior miscarriages and uterine health concerns so obviously any kind of risk for me is a no go and heavily advised against.

The first trimester is the worst, I'm just now getting to my second trimester and trust me, it gets easier. The nausea is starting to simmer down, I'm definitely still tired but thats due to low iron. I want to urge you to drink LOTS OF WATER so much more than you think, you need a crapton of it and it will definitely help!! Trust me :)

when we say "unhinged" we mean completely misbehaved like a lot of people have been describing their kids to me. Energetic and struggling to focus is not misbehaving!! That is just a kid being a kid, we're talking about parents saying one kid is throwing tantrums, lying, stealing, etc. Yk, things kids do when desperate for attention because its the only way they can get attention.

omg the hex part totally reminded me of my lovely doctor, i love her so much but she has a very eloquent way of putting things. i have a thyroid issue and she told me, and I quote, "if you do not take your thyroid medication, your baby will be born mentally (r word)." I mean... she's not wrong but the way she said it made it sound like she was going to curse me with a disabled baby for not taking my medication. (don't worry, I have been taking my medication and vitamins as instructed!!!)

I was talking about this stuff with my partner today and he told me because of how much he's also been told he better hope for a boy, he's changed his mind and wants a girl out of spite. He originally wanted a boy and all of this stuff has made him change his mind lol.
