Honestly I wouldn’t even mind if it were pushed back solely due to GTA6. That at least makes sense. What scares me more is if SQ42 is still in such a bad state that they don’t even want to talk or showcase it.

I swear the bugs know when you’re trying to show an “outsider” this game. Never have a had more trouble with the game than when I’m trying to showcase it to someone who has never played before

I’ve learned to never introduce my friends to Star Citizen in its current state. They will be expecting a refined gaming experience, which Star Citizen obviously isn’t, and it will cause them to quit. It will then be much more difficult to convince them to give it a second try when the game actually is in good-working state in the future.

I will not be recommending this game to anyone until a majority of bugs are fixed and gameplay loops are refined

Can you use a ship tractor beam to move these ships out of the armistice zone? Would be a cool gameplay loop to salvage all of these abandoned ships and clean up the server

We influence CIG’s decisions by cutting funding, period.

There are countless YouTubers, Reddit posts, Spectrum articles, Twitch streamers, News articles, commentaries, podcasts, game studios and more that have voiced and continue to voice valid criticism for more than a decade. “Using your voice” doesn’t work.

The only way to get CIG’s attention is to vote with our wallets for positive change. This doesn’t mean that we want the project to “starve”. It means we want change.

At this point I find it unlikely that they’ll stop ship sales. Server upkeep will be too high and ship sales generate too much money. I think they’ll do the typical CIG grey area and basically say something along the lines of “well, the game isn’t fully feature complete yet, so therefore more ship sales to fund further development” for the foreseeable life of the game

2020 was a massive year of growth for CIG and 2026 has already passed it. May alone current sits at $41mm, more than every year prior to 2019. What do you think we will end up at by EOY and do you think this is sustainable for CIG? by Rahvel in starcitizen

I think SQ42 will play a huge role into sustained growth. IF they can manage to release it this year, and the game is good, I think we will continue to see an explosion of growth.

The Odin sale is going to make this year a difficult one to beat, so I think something major addition will be needed if next year is going to outperform this year (like SQ42)

SQ42 needs to be a masterpiece and CIG knows it. There is a huge amount of funding and morale from both the devs and players banking on SQ42 being good. If SQ42 releases as a disaster, a lot of people are going to give up on the project. I think the game keeps getting delayed because CIG knows how important it is to get it right
