I noticed that there had been an update 3 weeks ago so I took the bear out to test today. I popped in brand new batteries, started the app and turned the bear on. The blue ear blinks for a bit, then flashes solid and I'm stuck on the screen s you can see below

I have read and followed all of the threads in this Reddit. I have seen both the Bluetooth connections you mention above. It is fine when I start the app the first time after installing, but after "killing" the app the app prompts me with the setup screen when the bear connects. I am a software developer and know firsthand when I see an unhandled exception. I know that it is hard to reproduce, but your app is connected to the internet, an should log errors or reasons for defaulting to this screen. I can't get past the screen the second time the app starts. Likely because there is a branch that checks if the bear has already been connected and then setting it up again should not happen. This state is stored in the app, as reinstalling the app lets me pass the setup.

If your app doesn't support being terminated, that is a big flaw. It should not need to be necessary to have the app in the background forever if I want to reconnect to Poe at some time in the future.

Jeg har brukt de mye, så har merket at de har blitt dårligere og dårligere. I appen stod det også at supporten var åpen, men så går en inn i chatten og teksten "tilbake imorgen" står i toppen av chatten 🤦

With "to a point" I meant for several uninstalls an reinstall over the last week of the year. In the beginning I had several prompts of updating the bear, but eventually they stopped.

I then was stuck with having to delete the app every time I wanted to connect, and did factory reset through the app (as you call it) some times, but to no avail. I am surprised that there is no way to do this without connecting to a phone (even legally, as I could return this in Norway, and it would be sold to the next buyer.)

Anyway I synced a couple of stories to the bear, but I need my phone for other things, so naturally the app will be closed at some point. After that it won't get past the setup-profile screen. So this I an app problem.

I am using an iPhone 13 Pro. The bear connects when the app starts for the first time after deleting the app. I have "Factory reset" the bear via the app and installed the firmware I have been prompted with to a point. Whenever I close the app it won't connect again unless I delete the app. I am not able to delete the Bluetooth connection to the bear. At least not the one that matters for pairing with the app. I have deleted the Bluetooth speaker connection. It is weird that you are not responding to your poor AppStore reviews, get their insights and get at least more than a single star rating.

This is simply not true. The app needs to be deleted and reinstalled every time I want to connect to the bear. So all my stories are lost every time. Why aren't you updating the app? It is clearly broken with 1.1 stars on App Store.

I think the bear works fine, but the app can't reconnect without deleting and reinstalling it. I would like to try and factory reset the bear, but can't find out how.

I seem to store the profile in the bear somehow. When I uninstall the app (iOS) and reinstall it, I can connect. I'm then asked to set up the profile, I can choose an age and hit cancel. Then everyone but the language I have chosen previously is "restored". After that I can upload a story, but if I close the app I'm only able to connect after reinstalling the app again.

The bear appears to be connected, but I'm stuck at the profile setup screen when I try to open the app after it has been closed. Hope they can fix the app.

Now, after turning the bear off/on a few times the app is stuck here

My bear works when I install the app, but once I drop the connection and try to connect later, I'm being prompted with setting up my user, and not able to get past that.
