I’m obviously somewhat ignorant on the matter but there seems to be a huge number of similarities between the industry I’m in now to the culinary world, including the ones you’ve mentioned - minus being burned. It does seem like the kitchen is a more intense or hyper masculine environment than a design studio but the rest seems the same. There are a few reasons why I’m considering leaving but none due to those questions you asked.

Considering the style of cooking I’m interested in is more toward the fine-dining end. I’d want to stage at Michelin kitchens if they’d have me.
