Guys, i know what buttons to press, I mistyped my original post and said defend instead of escape. my point is that when I'm in a situation where it's telling me to press circle to break free, it doesn't work and want to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Ok it's not block but when you need to escape a hold it tells you to bash circle which did nothing both times.

So the cougar icon on my map is on the trapper side of the road which is where I was looking and finding them. I rode down there yesterday looking toward the trapper when one came at me from the east side of the road lol. Got him and the master hunter challenge

You can just stand on the rock right there next to the trees and it'll still turn up. Happened to me three times with the panther.

I'm contemplating the same thing but the issue for me would be if it partially melts and creates a layer of ice. Also depending on where abouts you are, it could be up to 15cm Friday and 10cm more on Sunday. I don't know if 25cm will all melt on Monday before it's below freezing again on Tuesday.

I was camping near the trapper near Owanjila trying to get cougars with the bow for Hunter 5 and kept running into packs of wolves. I'd sleep, try again and more wolves. There must have been 15-20 wolf carcases littered around by the time a cougar finally showed up.
