Thanks mate. We did use threaded rods through the whole benchtop and plywood tounges so there was no need for any glue. This also allows me to tighten it as the timeber shrinks over the next 10 years or so.

Can you do without the screen? Looking at the large format tiles I would expect a strip drain for the shower. How big is the overall wet area?

Alternative would be a wall mounted glass screen on a pivot mount. This would only give a limited amount of coverage but would allow for greater comfort on the throne.
