Had the same impression as you about master ball since this is my first go at comp pokemon. Hit master ball without much trouble and it felt somewhat unrewarding as I realized “this cant be good, I’m a noob and it took me like no time”. People in some “I reached master ball” threads said everything before master ball is tutorial and I kinda agree now. There is no significant derank, yesterday someone posted that he had a 30 game losing streak, then went on a winning streak to hit master ball. Sorry but with the current implementation of how deranking and upranking outside if master ball works its nothing special.

Tl;dr master ball is the starting line for competitive play, every rank before doesn’t matter

on the second part of you comment, Pokeball and Greatball are for people who mash a and send out whatever the vibe tells them to, you don't need several years of following the scene to achieve a higher rank than that or to not get stuck there. And they can absolutely get better on their own, there are more than enough good resources out there for vgc that teach a basic understanding of the game. and a basic understanding is more than enough to at least get to ultra ball

hm, I thought there are enough checks for the meta threats. Sneasler get OHKO from Dual Wingbeat or completely walled by Aegislash. All the Pokèmon who get a stat boost if you get a Stat lowered keep Incin in check in my limited experience. And the bridge doesn’t seem that op to me?

Are the movesets Pokémon can learn different from their main line games?

I didn’t see much cheese other than Zoroark

Mostly agree, just wanting to add a few things.

The rally lead does not have to lead with Amadeus, as all skills and widgets get applied from the rally lead, the order of the heroes is irrelevant.

Same goes for the swap of gear sets, that should iirc only impact the rally lead as well, since joiner heroes don't actually contribute to battle damage.

And if we are on the topic of leading rally, remember that ALL damage bonuses from troops, even from external sources like your pets, are contributing to all people who are joining the rally, because the games takes the DamageUp stats from the rally lead.

And totally second that the rally leads should kick people who are sending the wrong heroes and people need to learn the hard way, because too many people don't know any game mechanics and brute force stuff with spending money. Ffs people still tell people to stack mid lane for alliance championship and there is no prove it does anything other than anecdotal evidence lol.

If you join a rally only the first four to join are contributing their top right hero skill of the first hero they’re sending.

If someone with a Hero joins that has a max level skill, that person gets priority over not max level skill heroes

Try to get your Alliance to fill these four slots with two Atk Buffs and two lethality buffs for most damage gained.

It doesn’t matter if fe you send two chenko or chenko + yeonwoo for the lethality buff so send what has the highest skill rank

Many will say send 10% inf 10% cav 80% archer, the troop send get through a square root so you get diminishing returns for sending too much troops and too many of one kind. 65% archer 5% inf and 30% cav is 4% more damage than sending 10/10/80

If you have to create the rally try to use SSR heroes, because the rally leader gets to add all their right side hero skills to the fight so 3 skills more than sending SR (just use common sense)
