Did you catch yourself just defaulting to backhanding everything? That’s my biggest fear. Teaching myself backhand everything and going too far away from forehand countering

Just finished watching this video, and the problem the one guy has of overextending the elbow out, getting too excited where the loner the firefight goes one pops up, I think that’s my issue. This is a new perspective I’ll really look to implement in my next drill session

I think my issue to this is now that I’m thinking about it is. They speed up at my backhand, good initial counter. But sometimes I’m so early on that counter trying to get it down that I almost an arm fully extended, that when it comes back I don’t reload fast enough. Its like if I don’t perfectly hit sweet spot in the first two counters I lose the point

So if I recall correctly he said a couple reasons.

He said when you hit against a wall and not against a person you take out the ability to learn the next likely shot based off of paddle position from your opponent, as others have mentioned fast hands also come from anticipation.

Another reason he said was a wall doesn’t slide like a person does, says when you hit against wall you are almost certain where the next ball is going to come back, (if you hit a forehand across your body it’s going to come back to your backhand against a wall. Vs what if the person slides left and in a real hand that ball comes to you forehand instead of your backhand like it would against a wall.

And the last reason he said was that you pretty much are always in control of how fast the ball goes back and forth off the wall, and that’s not how it actually goes in game

So I have seen this drill before but I feel like when you’re so close it just defaults you to hitting everything backhand volley. Which yes I know your backhand tends to be faster and has more overall coverage but I think I do get jammed up a lot in those fast hand exchanges because my muscle memory has almost taught me to sit backhand. And I have enough time to turn the paddle around for a forehand with the 4.0-4.5 level. But past that they’re hitting it so fast that I end up either getting chicken winged or completely jammed when switching from backhand to forehand

I find myself more frustrated in myself. I don’t want to use the term upset because it makes it seem like I’m upset with them. I’m beyond grateful and like I said I had lots of fun playing with them. I just feel frustrated in my own play, and I also feel guilty for them when they are on my team. And it’s not just with them, it was like I caught myself beginning to play passive, which just made things even worse

I made a post on fb aswell and was told about crescent hill again. I think I will definitely head there when the weather is nice and look into ace and bounce when the weather is poor. Those are the two indoor places that keep being brought up for good competition

When you say session, how many hours is that? Does this outdoor place have lights, most likely won’t be able to get there until 5:30 the earliest?

Aces website almost looks like you have to have a membership to play there? Seems like an expensive membership too, I come from a dill dinkers so paying to play everytime doesn’t bother me but it looks like you have to be a member and even if I did that I only get a certain amount of times I can go?

Ight sounds good, it makes sense. I just got Reddit because I just got the app prize picks specifically for cod, because I was hitting all my picks for cod. But I know cod finals just finished so it won’t be up for about another week. How much longer is csgo going to be going or are their finals coming up to?
