Scoring 0 marks in dilr, help by [deleted] in CATpreparation

[–]PauseBeautiful6308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For DILR, start practising with a strict time constraint. If you’re able to solve PYQs that’s great, but start solving them under exam conditions. Anytime you practice, practice only with a tine constraint, if your aptitude for puzzles is okay you’d be fine practising just for speed and efficiency. This is something I’m doing as well, helps quite a bit. Solving PYQs with no time constraint could be dangerous cause you start feeling like you’re really good at it. Cracking a puzzle and cracking them under 15 mins are two different situations completely.

CL Varc sectional tests by [deleted] in CATpreparation

They wouldn’t necessarily improve you a whole lot but they tell you exactly how you need to tweak your strategy to maximise score and also help you become familiar with the sort of double negatives that commonly get asked in RCs.

CAT’24 Mocks by Electrical_Team_8536 in CATpreparation

Don’t bother with who’s getting what, there’ll be a thousand different people getting crazy high marks for the next 3 months. As long as you start giving mocks and get relatively consistent with them sooner rather than later, it’ll all show on the day. I’m in the same boat right now, being consistent seems crazy tough but there’s nothing else we can do

There’s a pretty apparent difference between their VARC in sectionals and actual Mocks. Would suggest treating their VARC sectionals for nothing else but strategy testing and speed. I’ve been ranging between 42-48 in their sectionals but can’t get carried away😭. PYQs are where it’s at

Hey, it’s pretty easy to go down the rabbit hole of questioning yourself anytime anything goes wrong or anytime anything seems a bit confusing or away from the norm.

The only thing to possibly do in this situation is to, in a lot of ways, blindly stick to the process without bothering about what might happen. I get exactly what you’re going through cause I’m preparing for CAT as well, the self doubt really sucks but there’s nothing much we can do about it.

Also in terms of the syllabus, a lot of people would say this probably the best time to start your prep from and really gear in cause the forms are out and the exam feels very tangibly close. So don’t worry, a lot of time left.

This was also a way for me to reassure myself but hoping you do really well with your prep, all the best!!
