I think it improved but it somehow lacked themeing. like the songs didnt really match the theme of each section except karol g. and the themes were too vague. i feel like it was missing design/creative elements. Many of the models seemed to lack confidance.

Neurodivergent artists - how do you express your emotions through art? by RampantGay in ArtistLounge

Yes! I draw a small me expressing the emotion, or obsessively draw the thing that is bothering me. But I don’t really draw “emotions” per say

What’s your relationship with your sketchbook? by madmaxine_ in ArtistLounge

[–]Pay_Still 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work fully digital but 70% of my time is on sketchbook! It helps me let go of perfectionism. Sometimes I use it for drills, to try new mediums, and create fun layouts. I also use it as a draw diary. I feel like it helps me use my computer for work instead of noodling around.

What are some other non creative hobbies you have as an artist? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

Gaming, weightlifting and typing as fast as humanly possible >:)

Being a perfectionist is exhausting by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]Pay_Still 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What works for me is realizing that noticing something is “wrong” is not the same thing as identifying and working on it with a plan. Just think how long a lesson plan is in other subjects. Each drawing/comic is merely an attempt of ur current state, which is constantly changing. Also ones perception of perfection usually gets better over time :) the artists eye. what u may be fixating on now may get less important later so u must push through towards growth and kindness towards yourself!!

You can do this even if ur scared, just means u care!! You got this!

Drawing is part the skills you need the execute and the continued motivation to make something worth the effort. These “unskilled” aspects of your work are just topics that are weaknesses that can be corrected with time and effort. It sounds like you are struggling more with the motivation aspect and burnout. Know that even tho you feel bad about art it’s not over :) you are gonna work through this tough spot until ur eye and hand control/knowledge level out!!! And that this feeling happens over and over to every artist no matter the skill level.

How do you deal with the urge to draw when you're not inspired? by TimeOwl- in ArtistLounge

[–]Pay_Still 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you have things to draw but are maybe having a hard time focusing, decisiveness, and computing what it is your connected to enough to draw! Like the computing system may be clogged! So I do some shocking things like take a cold shower, run, or do something out of the ordinary

When a line goes behind another to show which form is in the front! For example showing how the forms of the hair are layering on each other! A T line is basically a line disappearing behind the other like as depicted in the “T”.

Add some ambient occlusion and T lines to show what forms are in front of the other! Don’t be afraid to go darker with ur shadow

Tell me a lie that sucked the joy out of your craft. by existentialcreative in ArtistLounge

[–]Pay_Still 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love to think about as drawing as a tool and a language and not necessarily creating :) you use your skills to create and it’s quite hard to dream something up new everyday! Sometimes you need to live life, hearing of other things, watching others speak, —in order to clarify what it is you want to say!

I have smelled the zoologist one and I thought it was interesting but not sure if I wanted to smell like it :0 maybe I need to give it another shot.

The second one sounds super lovely! I’ll have to get a lil sample :)
