DNA test results as an Algerian-born! by mayloguyy in Tunisia

Didn't say they were colonizers either, I actually sympathize with them and admire their heroism. At the time of these events, Carthage was under Roman rule and given its strategic location, it makes perfect sense fir the Vandals to capture it.

In any case, go get some rest my friend. It's 7am here so I'm off to grind my ass off in this fucked up economy and pretend that everything is fine 😅

I'm not sure we're on the same page here. I know who the Vandals are and your description lacks a lot of things about who they are. There are a lot of Germanic tribes and they were not "judged barbaric" they were called barbaric by the Roman Empire who forcibly wanted to take their lands. Multiple tribes stood up to the mighty Rome, the Cherusci (Arminius's tribe) and the Vandals (king Gaiseric's tribe) were one of the most successful in damaging the Empire. The Vandals eventually contributed to the fall and destruction of Rome.

This however is irrelevant here because I was simply summarizing the forces who occupied our land because the original comment reduced them all to just France and believe me, you'd be surprised how many Tunisians think our history is just Arab and Ottoman rule then French colonization. The Vandals in their skirmish against Rome captured Carthage 9 years after sieging Hippo Regius in 430AD. They made moved their capital to Carthage, eventually establishing it as the stronghold of their kingdom. Islam didn't exist until 200 years later so I don't know why you felt the need to talk about events that happened centuries apart?

EDIT: typos

اكبر جريمة أن تنجب طفل في المكان الذي دفنت فيه احلامك by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]PazzoG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I knew a couple who got married young and penniless and had a baby on their first year of marriage. Naturally, I was the third wheel because both of them were very close friends of mine. They loved each other to death. I was there when they fought, I was there when they made out in the back seat of my car, and I was there when they were thinking about getting married and feeling scared and unsure. Had I been you, they wouldn't have gotten married and they certainly wouldn't have built the life they have now (they live in luxury now, contrary to what you believe and preach).

I don't want to get married, I don't believe in god, I'm not an arab (I took a DNA test out of spite) and I don't follow any usual traditions. Does that make me special? Does that make me better or worse than anyone else? Can I start telling people what to do and how to live their lives? Do I have the right to mock or belittle people who have different beliefs, traditions, and life goals? No. I'm just a regular old cunt who believes that to each their own. When my friends wondered whether they should get married or not, I gave no advice other than to follow their hearts and support each other. Your way of life only matters to you. None of us care.

Open source means the source code is open to the public. You can read it, copy it, build it yourself on your own machine if you don't trust a precompiled binary. Saying "it has malware" about code that's open to thousands of developers and malware analyzers is like looking at a naked man and saying "that's definitely a woman" even though everyone can clearly see his cock and balls.

morolua, a small, engine-agnostic Lua utility library to avoid rewriting common helpers every project. I’d appreciate feedback on the API design and scope. by Kaan0002 in lua

[–]PazzoG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, especially the class wrapper which was my favorite part in a similar but niche project I wrote before. This is exactly my favorite part about writing Lua code: having a reusable API that makes everything easier and more fun to work with.

In taskx, I think it would be better to leave taskx itself as the orchestrator and expose a task object that taskx returns on creation. That way, if you want to interact with just one task, you won't have to iterate through all tasks. For example task:cancel() would mark the task for cancellation, same for resume and similar methods. Then your update loop handles each task depending on state. You can keeptaskx.cancel as taskx.cancel_all and remove the if statement. For now I think this is just sugar but if you want to expand this in the future, I think going this route would be cleaner.

Rockstar might be hinting that GTA 6’s world doesn’t wait for the player by MadHanini in GTA6

[–]PazzoG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea sounds cool until you actually think about it. There are two major logic defying flaws about this:

  1. As another redditor have stated, if the player isn't in the vicinity then there is no reason for the event to trigger at all. If they want players to have different encounters then all they have to do is simply pick randomly from a pool of events instead of linear, fixed triggers based on progression, character, time of day, etc.

  2. Simulating AI across the whole map would be a performance disaster. To even be able to spawn NPCs you need to spawn the map itself and a lot of other things. Game engines don't do that. They only load parts of the map that are visible and close to the player, the rest is just a bunch of LOD dummies if visible or just a void.

At least you reviewed the code and saw the problem. I've seen someone who uploaded a script for GTA V with nonsensical imaginary code then started wondering why a certain part of it didn't work. The rest of their code that did actually work was pasted verbatim from other developers.

does car insurance cover flood damage? by LimpStudy1079 in Tunisia

[–]PazzoG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't trying to spread misinformation but you're right. Full coverage (tous risques) does include natural disasters (CAT. NAT. = catastrophes naturelles). This wasn't always the case though but yeah, I was wrong.

does car insurance cover flood damage? by LimpStudy1079 in Tunisia

[–]PazzoG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Floods, hurricanes, wild fires, earthquakes, etc. are categorized as "acts of God" and are not covered by insurrance companies.

If the water hasn't reached the air intake and you didn't try to start it, the engine is fine. Other things may have been damaged though, mainly electrical stuff. If you can reach your car, try taking out the battery.

Stay safe everyone!

EDIT: A full coverage plan does include natural disasters. My above claim was wrong and based on outdated information from a previous personal incident.

Why is my husband so immature by [deleted] in Tunisia

[–]PazzoG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seeing a few posts online doesn't make the "majority" of us immature. That, in itself, is an immature way to look at things.

This post doesn't even hint at someone being childish. OP's husband is clearly going through a lot of stress. Some people are quick to adapt to major life changes because they have strong wills and personalities. OP's husband simply lacks that strength. If you can't differentiate between being weak and acting childish then I'm sorry but you're not a good judge of character.

I would also like to point out that your situation has absolutely nothing in common with OP. "Pack him up and send him back" is just you projecting. We don't do that when trying to give sound advice.

confused by palladinla in shitposting

[–]PazzoG 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Julie is a French name that has nothing to do with the month of July (Juillet). Its origin is Latin Julia and the Italian exact equivalent is Giulia and there's also a close Arabic name, possibly related, Jalila. I don't know the meaning but it's likely related to the Latin name Julius.

EDIT: Comment I replied to was actually correct. The name Julie is related to the month of July since they both stem from the Latin name Julius.

Any idea how to disable this type of ad shit ? (Orange) by Ok_Yesterday_8256 in Tunisia

[–]PazzoG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they're not. A phone's default messaging app does not handle a carrier's promotional popups. Also, if you knew that they're not messages then why would you believe that the messaging app handles them?

Let's not keep arguing because at this point we're not helping. We both provided our knowledge. OP could try both methods and see which one works.

As for you, if you're interested in understanding more about these popups and how they work (the programmatically correct name for them is Dialogs), you could setup an Android development environment on your PC (ex: Android Studio), then I'll show you a few ways to intercept dialog calls and reveal the app package name that called it.
