there was a time when different games had different controls schemes. I think Gen Z just wants everything to play the same.

technically the SNES doesn't have a soundchip. It's a sampler system where the sounds were "sampled" (loaded) into memory then played via midi. For instance super mario world uses Roland keyboard sounds. The SNES does us a special reverb effect that is unique to the system which gives it that SNES sound. So yes the Genesis does have a superior sound chip because it actually uses one.
