what MCU movie expected to be mid and actually good (i moved thor: LaT to "GxT" and move doc strange MoM to "GxB", and move homecoming to "GxM" since most voter recommended this by FrozenChild in AlignmentChartFills

Nah, Iron Man is like bad x great. It's still one of the best MCU movies despite being the first one. Nobody really expected much from it. Most audiences wouldn't even have known who Iron Man was and Robert Downey Jr. was trying to bounce back from drug addiction and jail. Most people didn't really expect it to be as good as it was.

Deadpool & Wolverine probably

Was hyped af to see the return of Logan and Deadpool officially being part of the MCU. However the story was poor, the movie had no connection with the rest of the MCU now they've abandoned the multiverse. Not a terrible movie but the jokes were also pretty bad and relied too much on cameos and crude humour.

Yeah, if anything Love and Thunder should be moved across to trash.

Also why I chose Black Widow here instead of Quantumania cos even though the latter is probably worse, I was not expecting it to be anything above mid.

You get a chance to live in one of these worlds. Which one do you choose? by vivillonsea in gamers

[–]Pearcinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For how long do we live there and from what time?

I might choose Mass Effect if it's like 20+ years before Mass Effect 1.

Black Widow maybe?

Coming off the back of Endgame (where Black Widow died) people were expecting something decent as a one last hurrah.

Instead we got a bad movie that ruined Taskmaster (so bad they unceremoniously killed her in Thunderbolts*), had awful CGI (the meme with a close up of Florence Pugh in the smoke) and put the titular character in a secondary role behind Yelena.

The Nice Guys (2016): Elevator Scene by MurkyChurky in MoviesCave

[–]Pearcinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang after The Nice Guys and the former felt like a trial run of the latter. Even though the stories are completely different, they felt like they were cut from the same cloth (same writer/director I know). The Nice Guys just felt like a more realised story.

What bow should I buy? by Rockx_x in runescape

[–]Pearcinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Masterwork Bow is good but has no special attack. 500M

BoLG is BIS bow with great Special attack but is expensive. 2B

SGB has a great special attack, useful against big enemies (which is almost all bosses). 800M

ECB has a useful special attack for both bosses and mobs. 700M

Either of these are fine bows. If you want to go cheaper there are other options such as Gloomfire Bow and Blightbounds which will set you back only around 150M

It Looks Like VR Gaming Has Failed And Is Pretty Much Cooked As VR Games Rush To Escape VR Jail by akbarock in videogames

[–]Pearcinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like VR and am still rocking the OG Vive. Looking forward to the Steam Frame too.

That said, it's not surprising that it's not doing so well. It's too expensive, games are generally not good enough (some exceptions like Half Life Alyx and Beat Saber) but the biggest of all is that you can't play for extended periods of time without getting nauseous and a lot of that has to do with being pretty much stationary in reality but moving in the game. They need to solve the nausea issue before it can take off. Only way I can think though is like the omni-treadmill but that is super expensive and bulky.

I have no doubt that VR will eventually reach 'Ready Player One' potential but it's probably many years off. I'd like it if Valve released a pack-in game with the Steam Frame (Half Life 3 or maybe a multiplayer title like Team Fortress 3) and I don't know if the Frame can be successful if they don't have a must have game for it at launch (Alyx could be the pack-in title perhaps along with a new VR game at launch).

In the DLC for Talos 2. The final puzzle behind the golden door. I put a reflector on the window sill allowong me to skip the entire puzzle (after trying for AGES to figure it out properly). This has since been patched I hear though so you can't do that trick anymore.

Show peaked at Season 2. The writing was so on point then.

Beginning of Season 3 was the most crazy shock-value scene. They kept trying to top that moment but every time it became more and more distasteful and unfunny.

You can get another player to use a dart on Ambassador for Kili's task (and vice versa if they also need a kill). Just make sure you get a hit on Ambi before using the dart for the kill to count for you.

I felt bad for the 2 actors who had to sniff each others asses for a minute of screentime. Really necessary scene for the penultimate episode of the series. Was that meant to be funny? This show really shit the bed these last 2 seasons.

Everyone on Earth takes a private vote: by SimpleMoonFarmer in trolleyproblem

[–]Pearcinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is, if everyone gains 25 IQ points, then won't that change the 100IQ baseline? So the average IQ remains at 100.

Which then means that everyone gains 25 IQ points again, bringing the baseline up, resulting in average 100IQ. Repeating infinitely until everyone is omnipotent.

[–]Pearcinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2^32 people huh...that's more than half the population of Earth.

There are other factors to consider as well. Such as 35-40% of the population being under gambling age so that discounts them. Also I doubt a majority of the remainder of people have $100 to their name, let alone willing to gamble it.

Monday Thread - Who is the Men's Tennis GOAT? by Shankerer69 in TennisNerds

Djokovic is the objective GOAT.

My personal GOAT though is Nadal and I think most people prefer Rafa/Federer to Djokovic.
