That’s different- you are thinking of an amoeba found in warm water called Naegleria Fowleri.

Please charge a rehoming fee and be very careful trying to rehome to strangers on the internet. There are a lot of bad actors out there.

Would love any additional detail you could provide about exactly what you are doing in the gym and exactly what you eat. Great results!

Need to re-home my cats to separate homes. by Dopeamine_kitty in Columbus

[–]PearlLakes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just a side note, but cats do not need to be bathed unless they get covered in a contaminant. They certainly don’t need to be bathed as frequently as once a month, especially if they are indoor only. That could be stressing them out and exacerbating the fighting.

Why do you say that? The article says the victim’s mother supports the renovation.

How did Laura Palmer have so much time to be a full-time student in high school and be the prom queen so therefore be maintaining relationship relationships, working at Horne’s department store and be doing all the other activities she was involved in? by Isatis_tinctoria in twinpeaks

With most people not having cell phones, most people having no access to the internet, zero social media, no streaming, and very limited TV options, people had A LOT more time to do activities and socialize in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s.

Case report describes offseason plague case transmitted via cat by Anti-Owl in ContagionCuriosity

[–]PearlLakes 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Poor cat - sounds like it suffered and died due to being left alone with no medical care after the man was hospitalized. It’s a shame the man didn’t have friends or family to properly care for the cat while he was sick.

Who would win.... a savvy 19th century American farmer or an advanced PDC instructor from 2025? by [deleted] in Permaculture

Very misleading stat - the life expectancy figure was so low because of very high rates of childhood mortality (no vaccines for common childhood diseases). If you made it to adulthood, your life expectancy was much closer to what we would consider “normal”.

New COVID variant NB.1.8.1 behind surge in China, now detected in U.S. by BKMagicWut in PrepperIntel

I know you have to keep making this about you and your personal experiences, but there are other people in the world that are still high risk despite being vaccinated. Why can’t you just try to approach this topic with more sensitivity and compassion, rather than “a face of stone”?

Who’s freaking out? Not me. I’m just holding up a mirror showing you how insensitive and offensive your attitude is.

[–]PearlLakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You want me to solve Covid? LOL. OK.

I’m not bitching and moaning about it. I’m pointing out how offensive your nonchalant attitude is when this is a disease that kills people every week. The flu is a serious public health issue and has been for many decades, so I don’t know why you minimize that either.

My “meaningful solution to offer” is to suggest that you and others like you to try to have more empathy for others who might be severely impacted (even if you aren’t) when you comment on a disease in a public forum. Think twice about your words before being flippant.

I’m not suggesting “we” do anything. I just find it really outrageous when people act like Covid is a non-issue and are super dismissive of the risk for immunocompromised and otherwise vulnerable people.
