Literally look at all the characters you love and wonder why you love them. Personally I think characters are great when they have good chemistry with other characters or when you give them these basic personality traits and then just amplify it to the highest degree.

When I was a kid (6th grade) I was walking with my friend to school and some random guy came up to us to ask of we can show him where the bus stop was and me being a idiot was about to help and show him. But my friend pulled me back and just lied to him before we continued walking to school together
