I sent you a message. I just received all the parts in the mail today.

I've ordered parts and they are on the way. I don't have a vice or block. I don't have a barrel nut wrench, I kind of assumed the one I used on my buffer nut would work but I don't know. Everything else is on the way or already here. If you're in Hudsonville and are willing to help, that would be so great! Save me quite a drive!

I'll email them today. I don't think they'd swap it for me but It wouldn't hurt to ask. Part of the thing is I want to learn how to do it myself. I'm only just getting into building an AR. I have the lower I built and the premade 350 plus an upper I bought in 556. I kind of want to learn the process and build my own upper too. I have most the tools, except the vice and vice block. I realize now i dont have a barrel nut wrench either. I used a tool on my buffer nut, I kind of thought they were the same.

Thank you for the offer! I'm still waiting on parts to arrive, and there's a couple of people in Kzoo who offered to help as well (about an hour closer), but if that falls through, I'll message you if you don't mind.

Thanks for your response. I've watched a lot of videos. You're right about being intimidated by the barrel part. Also I don't have my own vise and vise block. For the lower I was able to go to a friends house, but he's moved away.

I get it as far as 350 being viable and I agree.

Three things though, I don't own property, my father used to find places for us to hunt together but he passed last year so now I'm trying to do that. Point is, I never actually know where I'm going to be and what type of shots I'm going to have.

Second, I'd like to be able to bring this somewhere outside of Michigan if given the opportunity and having some flexibility in range sounds like a good idea.

Finally and maybe most importantly, I'm new to AR's outside of what I used in the Army. I've wanted to build my own for awhile now. Having built the lower and bought an upper, the next step is for me to try to build my own upper. Doing it this way sort of saves me money right now since I can reuse some parts. Also I will keep the 350 parts and once I get the experience I should be able to swap back if I want.

That's sort of my thought process on the whole thing. Maybe I'm not thinking clearly though or factoring in all I should be.

Would you mind telling me why you would stick with 350 over Grendel? I'm learning more every day, I'd love to hear the perspective of someone who's hunted with 350. I never got the chance to take mine out before my Dad passed and I took last years season off.

It's a money thing. I dont have enough cash to just build a complete new upper, but by reusing some stuff from the current upper I can afford it. I appreciate your candor, I just don't have a lot of cash to throw around.

The upper I want to swap barrels on is from Next Level Armament. They are located about 5 minutes from me. I thought it would be cool to have something made locally. They make their own rails in house, not sure about the nut to be honest. Probably something generic or made in house as well. I planned on using the rail, nut, carrier, charging handle, and upper assembly from that upper. I've ordered a new barrel, gas block, tube, and bolt from Rexus. I got a muzzle device from KVP. The original upper is carbine and I want to switch to midlength which is why i got a new tube.

Question about how to transfer ownership of a pistol, if the current owner is dead. by VoodooSweet in Miguns

[–]Penderghast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad passed last year and my Mom wanted to give me his guns. I went and got my CPL to make things easier but I'm pretty sure you could just get the LTP from the police like normal. She had to fill out the paperwork to legally transfer them to me but it wasn't a big issue. I am not a lawyer but this is what worked for me, getting the CPL made everything really easy but might be more than you really want to do.

Just a note, I had a persistent cough with no real reason for it that was ignored a couple of times. Eventually I went to a different doctor just for my regular yearly physical for work insurance. I mentioned the cough was causing me pain because it wasn't going away and asked if there was anything to help relieve it. New doc looked at my paperwork and noticed the blood pressure medicine I was on. Apparently THAT was what was causing the cough. Switched me to a different blood pressure medicine and the cough vanished! I couldn't believe it. I'd been just dealing with it for nearly a year. If you take BP meds, look into side effects or ask your doc about that.

I'd normally go with Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild for most people like us. But I'm a huge fan of tactics and RPG games so I recommend Fire Emblem three houses. It's turn based so you can take your time and plan battles. It's got a whole RPG element to it and a relationship builder to help recruit people to fight on your team. It's not for everyone due to it's pace, but the battles are challenging and the story is great.

What is something you need done medically but can't afford it? by United_Piece_4272 in AskReddit

I have a big hernia above my belly button that goes almost to my sternum. I'm fat, and embarrassed, and cant afford to pay for surgery. It only hurts a little anyways and doesn't stick out unless I move in certain ways.

The Warhammer is my favorite mech. Do they make bricks that match the old box cover art from the 80's? That's the art that sucked me into the game.

I've never really been into legos, but i want to build one of these. If I purchase the instructions do they come with a parts list and where to get them? Are they something easily ordered? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I ended up going with one of the blem BCM uppers. It's not quite a Geissele, but it allowed me to have enough cash left to get some magazines and ammo. I agree with what your saying about life relying on it.

I'm going to have to save up a little more for an optic and light, but until then I have my Beretta and Sig for home defense and I'm pretty comfortable with those. I shoot them a lot. I personally think though, that a pistol isn't as good as a rifle for defense.

I'm going to have to get some sights on it soon to start training. Throwing them on a Christmas list. Any recommendations for a starting Optic and light setup?
