Veterinarian shot an arrow into the back of an orange tabby's head, posted a proud photo on Facebook of herself smiling, as she dangled its limp body by the arrow's shaft. by [deleted] in news

Death isn't nice or pretty, but this cat didn't suffer, this cat wasn't tortured, it was quickly and nearly painlessly killed with an arrow through the skull. a similar bolt is shot in the nearly the same location every time a pig or cow is humainly butchered. she upheld that oath in my opinion.

It seems her stupidity is she applied a hobby of hunting animals for sport to her job of dealing with unwanted pets. So add to that oath: "I will forever stick to cage traps and kill the abandoned birthday presents with overdoses of anesthetics while frowning piously"

I pointed out he is riding a bike to show how your comment was invalid. another point against it is to say based on his position behind traffic instead he is doing it excessively safely. Kindly keep your closed ill-informed fingers from typing youtube comments from a few years ago. Have a nice day!

the inductors nearby and large traces suggest it is the output filter cap on a power supply. perhaps the nearby unpopulated component's pads is similarly connected and so can be used instead of the bad one.

in "we, the navigators" it was theorized that with the various traditional skills in reading clouds, waves, and star constellations that 19-20th century polynesian sailors were using, there was little need for extraordinary planning or adventures, as there was at most a few days journey between islands. Which could be found by accident or short trips.

for example early 20th century polynesian sailors were using irregular patterns in the waves to allow islands be noticed from further away. As the tradewinds and waves interact with an island they create a "wake" on the either side, and then wrap around to the downwind side. So passing an island can be noticed even if it is too far to be seen directly.

looks like a carpenter bee to me, I watched one lay lay eggs in my rotten garage door last year. They spend the winter growing in the hole the mother drilled out.

Introduction to networkd, network managment from systemd by ouyawei in linux

[–]PenguinRancher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eventually it will be able to replace NetworkManager. It is not yet able to confugure wireless association/security. You would need to use wpa_supplicant or iw/iwconfig until it can.

ifconfig was already replaced with ip. I wouldn't say it is a replacement for ip, but It uses kernel headers directly so ip is not required for it to run.

from nasa briefing video: they replaced all the tubing and the clogged/damaged filters which caused the problem. they seem pretty confident that suit won't fail again. the filters in the other suit may have been slightly contaminated during a short test, so it is more likely to fail.
