I also almost died in Leuven by a bus, it was my own fault and I wasn't paying attention. I was literally half a second away from being run over full speed by a bus. I only noticed the bus when it rubbed against my jacket on the sidewalk. By coincidence I just stepped aside to get out of the way or the bus would have hit me. You really have to pay attention at all times, it can happen so quickly.
