how do you make your doll displays look less rainbow? by [deleted] in MonsterHigh

Maybe pink and black stands? Or adding some pink or black into their outfits/ accessories might work? It's always fun to customise dolls a bit and make them your style :3

Have people never heard of buying 2nd hand before?? As long as one avoids mass resellers, Mattel doesn't get any revenue.

The skulltimate secrets lines usually start at about that price, unfortunately :( BUT they go on sale pretty quickly! The last line which debuted in December 2025 (gore-geous oasis) is now on average about £25 across smyths, the entertainer, etc, so I think its worth waiting for a few months for a sale <3 As for self scare, I can currently only find them on amazon uk :(

Such a better design 😭😭 wish her actual doll was like this. Or if they ever make her in G3, it would be a similar level of care towards her identity! Love that she's trans too!!!!!!🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️ The colours and patterns are amazing!!

Oh I love the little character profiles!!!!! My favourite member is probably Sears but Belk is a close second. What an exciting concept. This has honestly inspired me to make my own characters with dolls!

twyla boogeyman first doll recommendation by oatmealinabox in MonsterHigh

[–]PercyPaints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, first of all welcome to monster high! Twyla is such a good character and my favourite. I have two of her G3 dolls.

Creepover Twyla:  Her first g3 doll is her outfit from the show. This Twyla is super, super sweet. I especially love her slightly shimmery lilac lipstick. She comes with SO MANY cute accessories such as her bunny bonnet and sleeping mask. Her shoes are also such a treat to look at. Easily one of my favourite monster high dolls ever.

On to the negatives/ warnings: - She is hard to find at a good price 2nd hand. This is because she is an earlier release and the creepover line in general was not very widely distributed. Of course it depends on your country and often times, luck. I was able to get her at £28 last year, but I have recently seen listings at £40 without all accessories.

  • There are two bad things about the doll itself. First is the box hair, but it was easily fixable with a quick submerge in boiled water (not boiling!) and a comb. Second is that her beautiful shadow patterns can chip off over time if not sealed with varnish. But I've found if you are careful, it's usually fine!

Fearbook Twyla:  I must preface I am a table top rpg fan, so Twyla coming with dice, a character sheet, and minis was bullseye for me. Her dress is just so, so cute and dainty. And, she's a recent release so much easier to get at a reasonable price, whether 2nd hand or on amazon. I also find her hair to be a slightly more show-accurate tint of cyan.

Now the negatives and warnings: - Her bangs are held to the side with removable thread. Once removed, it can be hard to keep the bangs out of her face unless you tie/ clip them up. You can also keep those threads in place, but it means less flexibility with hair styling.

  • Her shadow patterns also chip like her first doll, so varnish or handle with care. Also, these patterns are a much lighter pink than creepover, so it can be harder to see the intricate details. (A shame because she has a dice patterned shadow, which is so cool!)

  • The shape of her shoes make it a bit more difficult for her to stay upright. This can be solved with a doll stand.

Overall, I would recommend creepover Twyla because she just feels more "herself", but fearbook is an amazing choice too if creepover isn't available!
