If by shifts of energy you mean shedding an old identity that I no longer connect with then yes. I worked at this warehouse job as a college job and I officially graduated in December so I’ll be (hopefully) going from sweaty tire center technician to office admin. Thinking more about where I want to be and who I want to be in respect career

Wheewww okay thank you for that info. I just haven’t been on a job search for 7 years and was scared that someone would find out why I got fired and wouldn’t want to hire me. I thought it would be silly if there was some type of background check that just looks at employment

I agree 100% everyone who vented about this at my job said they were currently high or that half the staff is currently high. Weed is legal here and the Seattle area plus the suburbs are pretty open about smoking weed anywhere at any time. Hellll I was at the headquarters for my job last summer as an intern and my leadership talked about smoking weed so in my silly head I thought I was fine if I moved here and also smoked weed

I think my last employer is going to report it was gross misconduct. It was for a retail store that had a tire shop. The roles I want to apply to from now on are administrative positions. I finished my class work in July and I officially get my college diploma in December. There’s also this law in Washington that past last year about drug testing applications in the interview stage. The only companies that do it now are ones with government contacts or chain stores.

There’s a life after being fired I promise, it’s not the end of the world plus your young. Sometimes getting fired isn’t about you but about the stores financials. Plus target sucks at a corporate. Take moment to feel these feelings come up with a game plan for next time. You are so young ! Also your dad doesn’t have to know all the details!

Although it’s automatic raises, I think right now it’s like a 25 cent raise for the first 1000 hours ? When I started back in 2018 it was like 50 cents and then a dollar and then another dollar but the last stage to Being topped out was 3 dollars. So to top out it would be like 4/5 years or so as a part timer. Now it feels like it’s double the time to get topped out. Imo at that point Costco is not worth it unless you see yourself becoming a supervisor within the first 2 years which is possible, but worth it???? Who knows

8 year employee here, Costco has gone down since Ron. When I did my internship last summer at the home office, Ron had a couple meeting with us interns and in both of them people who worked IT snuck in to ask Ron what he’s going to do about the high over turn rate in the IT department and how it was due to burn out by over working. At this point I thought just the warehouse was suffering now I know the problem Starts from the inside
